Do you allow SCREAM ZONE to promote your game via social media?

Yes

What game engine did you make this project in?

Godot

Any other notes?
I used a godot project template do jumpstart this game. If this is bothers anybody I guess you can express this is your ratings.

I was going to use this for another game jam that was running at the same time. But I ran out of time =( (72h wasn't enough), the original theme was "only one life".

Made the door upgrade into a book to mby hint a bit at knowledge... but yea... not much theme integration in this game.

Good luck and have fun!

whoaaaah! whoaaaah! whoaaah!. I'm going to hear it in my dreams now
Nice game concept though and soundtrack is cool.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Fortunately the sound options can help with that =))
whaaaah! zbang! whaaaah! zbang!

I couldn’t manage to get the Repair working, even when the bar was in the middle of the gauge. Baby sound was creepy.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
The repair gets easier to use after you upgrade the door a few times.

As it is right now, it is quite hard use at the beginning and very easy towards the end. It certainly needs some improvements.

It is not supposed to sound like a baby =)) but I did raise the pitch a bit because it made it sound funnier. Probably that is why it sounds like that to you.

Heya I liked the gameplay loop here, good menu systems and I liked how you integrated key commands into the popups in a smart way!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

The menu need a bit more work behind the scenes, but so far so good.
Glad you liked it.

I really enjoyed this! Even though the mechanics are simple, the game has huge potential. The menus are very polished and look great. It took me a while, but I managed to beat it.

Regarding the feedback about needing a tutorial: I actually disagree. Part of the charm is learning by trial and error; it made the experience much more interesting. To be honest, I didn't feel the horror aspect as much because I was so focused on survival—I was completely 'locked in' repairing the door and running to get upgrades.

You have a very solid base here and can definitely keep growing the project from this. Great job!

Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it.

The tutorial is kind of a complex thing to handle, my hope is that a small cinematic intro will give a sense of what you're supposed to do.
Like mby Boby starts chasing the player at the beginning forcing it to go into the house...

I totally feel you when you say that part of the charm is learning by trial and error.

I liked the idea of this game, although the horror and story really didn't feel present in this game and i kept dying repeatedly and i think a small in-game tutorial may haved helped a bit. and the slider to fix the health of the base was to quick for me atleast.

Other than those things, for a game made in 72 hours and template, this was really cool I somewhat enjoyed the loop onced I grasped it.

Good Job :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The game wasn't built in 72 hours tho, that was the deadline for another game jam.

I agree, it needs a tutorial and the "repair" mechanic needs more work.
The way I wanted to integrate the story would have taken too much work so I left it for future updates. Haven't played around with 3D animations in Godot yet.

Didn't even managed to mention the full name "Defend the door" -> DEDOR =)

Thank you very much for the feedback!

Really fun I liked the sound and the overall atmosphere and especially the UI Animations!

Glad you had fun.

Oooh, I dig the atmosphere so much! I kinda love the mix of the lighting, the tree textures and the soundtrack. Was a bit difficult to figure out what to do exactly and how I can upgrade stuff but once I got it, it was really fun :D And brutal hard! Wasn’t able to get Booby to 0 health once. Great game! good job

Thank you very much!

Have to balance the repair mechanic since it is very hard to use at the beginning but after a few upgrades it becomes very easy to use.
It is possible to beat Boby, that much I can guarantee.
