  • Neat card game with some interesting mechanics. Once I found a "strategy" that worked my scores ended up snowballing to ridiculous numbers, but that was part of the fun. The "overdue rounds" were a very nice touch (even if the menu cards blocked the character's portrait). I would love to see this game get a little more love and maybe more characters.
  • What can I say, I like a girl who knows how to eat. I am not great at card-based games, and as such, I never made it to the fabled "overdue" part of the game. Despite this, I thankfully did get to see May at her largest size, and despite the somewhat buggy side view, the progression was one of my favorites from the jam. There is just something about a girl going from absurdly slim to round that hits all the right notes. The gameplay itself is deceptively "simple", and I quite enjoyed that aspect of it. People with greater strategies and more experience in card games could probably crack this wide open, but it's very well-balanced towards even someone as hopeless as me, and I appreciate that. On a side note, adding an introduction in the main menu was genius and caught me off-guard, so bravo. Out of all the games I've seen from you two, I hope this one gets more content the most; I'd love to see more girls, maybe with the director herself as the final "boss" if the player proves their nutritional superiority.
  • The gameplay was a bit tricky to figure out but once a groove was found, it was smooooth sailing! A few visual bugs came up after selecting a recipe as well but besides that the game was great. Great pregnancy content, good use of the 'Expansion' theme between rounds, and catchy music.
  • I enjoyed this game quite a bit. It took me a few tries at the start to understand the mechanics, even with the help of the tutorial but eventually got it. I've always enjoyed deck builders and in a way this is one where you focus on optimizing your deck to find the best combos to help the character go, albeit pray that her food aversions aren't a main staple in you deck. Pregnancy wise, I gave this the lowest category. It's present but... to me it feels almost more of a stuffing simulator in a way. The story as well as fun options such as twins mode and overdue mode help fill in the pregnant category. Gameplay wise, as mentioned above I enjoyed the deckbuilding aspect. It's a challenge and takes a bit of practice but a fun puzzle none the less. Creativity from the story of the pregnancy trials to the puzzle of food building with the idea of frying or chopping up food to better prepare the meals, it's a cool idea. Finally the jam theme scored the best, the entire game is based on monitoring progress of the characters pregnancy, encouraging progress, and seeing it grow from start to finish, good job!

This was really well done. Does it wear it's inspiration on it's sleeves? Yeah, but that's fine. I really like a lot of the twists you put on the usual Balatro formula. Some aspects could probably use a bit more explanation or fleshing out, (particularly the way cards lose stars) but for the time constraints, this is really well-thought out.  While it's current absence is a nuisance, it's good to hear that a save system is in the works. I did notice that if you get enough recipes, they start covering part of the pretty lady. Finding some way for the player to earn chances to reroll offered recipes/card-additions/card-deletions I think would also be helpful. Unique art for the recipes cards could also help with readability, meaning players don't have to remind themselves what their recipes do. While I know you've got lots of things on your plate, I would be super psyched to see this get more love in the future!

Thank you! That's all good feedback on what to prioritize for the update!

The gameplay loop is fun and the game is amazing but it would have been cool if there was a save of some sort because if I close the application all of my progress is gone so I need to redo a singleton before doing a twin again.

Developer

saving progress is coming soon!

Didn't know  much at all about Balatro-likes going into this one, but you'd better believe I picked it up quick so I could have a cute pregnant woman cheer me on.

I had a lot of fun with this one, fantastic stuff!!

broo I'm too dumb  I have no ideia how to play this game  pls send help :(

Developer

Click cards to select them in hand, prepare them using the frying pan and cutting board in early courses then serve a big meal to end the day strong! Getting cookbook upgrades when they show up helps to build combos, and don't forget to satisfy her cravings!

I mean... Anything Balatro related is GOATED. Love the dialogs and the profile growing animation. Specially the days in overdue while it still worked.

I really liked getting into the gameplay loop and how more & more strategies became available as I progressed through the days. I would definitely be interested in an expanded version in the future.

The game play is fun as you try to get a high score and the art work is cute  but it needs more wants to score points like normal cards game like if you have two of a kinds or if you have a full hand of vegs I know that there are recipes  cards that do that  but if it was bake it will make build a deck more fun.

current best is 126918

and current highest 1 item score is 50487

also, overdue is a little broken, the day counter isn't  day counter-ing, not sure if there's a special event tied to it or not

Developer(+1)

Overdue is currently just a bonus endless mode! No special events, and it's a little untested. Just something to have fun with if you want to keep playing after day 10

(+1)

sweet! I do have one additional thing to say about it, and that's that there's no way out to the main menu without losing the completion of the 10 days ;-;

Developer(+1)

Ah, a bit of an oversight on our part! It's on the short list of things to fix!

Game is alright. .5/10

Nice premise and a lovely game! Though, it can be a bit hard at times, and I'd wish for the ability to save because these runs take some time. Two really annoying bugs though, that made thinks extra difficult, sometimes, after selecting a recipe I think, the cards move way to the right, blocking three from view, and the other is that sometimes cards will grow instead of being chopped or fried...I do love growth but it should be the women, not the damn cards getting bigger lol

Loved the game, I am a big fan of card based games in general (including balatro of course) so it was a nice surprise to see a well made preggo version. The gameplay and art are both excellent and overall I love this concept. Excited to see what the twin trial has in store

This was pretty fun! Nice art from you as always, and I really liked the dialogue! One "bug" I noticed was that fish which were part of the meal would also count as "discarded" for the one recipe, so the multiplier got really high and I could just fishmax my way to the end

I enjoy this game (despite being awful at it). I hope that it continues to be worked on after the game jam!

pretty good game but really difficult if you dont get  lucky with the cards. always have 2 of each type

also i randomly got a bug where all the cards went to the right instead of where they are supposed to be so they were blocked off by the deck

Love the premise, and the minigame. Too bad she always have a flat stomach when she turns to the side and does not grow when the sound cue is played

Developer

There is a little bug where she doesn't grow as quickly on the side as she's suppose to. By day 5 you should see what you're looking for :)

This is balatro wihout the poker elements, it could be made a non fetish game, which means its a good game, pretty difficult, nice art as always
