Maybe parallax background to emphasize movement. You could take mechanics of Downwell. Make targets into enemies and platforms to reload, and some shops on the way.
Parallax background was something I always wanted but couldn't make in time... I've never heard of downwell but I like your suggestions. I'll look into it. Thanks for playing!
The only thing I'd like to see in this game other than the cliche background that changes from ground, to sky, to space, etc., would be a slowly flashing reticle as the cursor I don't lose track of my mouse. Sometimes I'd totally lose track of where my mouse was and it'd really screw me up.
Very good suggestions, actually both of them are features I wanted to add but didn't make it on time. I was so sad that couldn't pull off the cliche background... After the voting period ends I'll probably polish the game some more if I find time, I want to add the cursor, camera shake, background, and some kind of menu and tutorial probably. Thank for the comment and for playing!
Really fun game! The mechanic is really well executed :), got to around 4.4k on my third attempt!
Good job! Thanks for playing!
Fun! Really makes you focus to keep from going sideways, nice balancing act.
Thanks!
Addictive little challenge. My trackpad was not the most accurate to play but I still did about 10-15 rounds. Good physics tuning. I could barely crack the 500-1000 range.
Yeah, fun fact I developed it away from home only with a laptop and touchpad, I did have a little gamepad so it helped a lot. Glad you liked it
Nice! I did mine that way as well with a trackpad and gamepad. Not sure about you but sometimes getting out of the regular spot and using a laptop is refreshing for focus. I also find box2d tuning a challenge.
Yeah definitely! When it comes to box2D I only used it once a long time ago (unless you count using unity or something) this game just uses simple physics I coded during the jam. For these types of games I find using physics engines to actually slow you down and usually give inferior results as you don't expect realistic behavior anyway...
Best score 4148 🫡 This is very cool!
Thanks!
Cool game. Shoot them targets!
Thank you!
Great mechanic, and fun to play implementation. Really nice work!
Thanks!
I love it! My best score was 2770! Very nice how you can get bullets back even after you mess up by hitting the blue and green targets.
Nice controls too, it plays great.
Glad you liked it!
clean and simple. great camera and feedback, feels very polished for such a short jam
Yeah. it was supposed to be more of a puzzle game with levels with using same mechanic but I decided to have a very simple idea and polish it. Thanks for playing!
One of the most fun entries I've played so far!
Happy to hear that!
best score was 586. pretty cool, but tricky. good job.
Yeah, I find it easier with a controller and it helps to keep distance from the targets you shoot as the shotgun spread makes it easier to hit em
