In relation to other Game Jams

I was working on the project, but it wasn't working for me.

Before throwing it away, I remembered a similar project I'd created for another game jam.
Although I'd submitted it, I'm no longer satisfied with it, so I've hidden it.

The idea was to merge the two projects, but even though I've seen other games on Itch that have been used as submissions, I'm not sure how fair that would be.
I wanted to know if that was a problem before proceeding?

If you use premade assets, or unfinished projects, you must specify what was made before the jam. Also, the majority of the game must be made during this gamejam. If most of your game ends up being made before the start of the jam, it's just not fair to those who have been working extremely hard, losing sleep to try to meet this deadline, when they started with nothing.
