Pretenzioso e basta. Bocciato.

be' sì, decisamente sì

Domande

I’ve played the game, come a puzzle game it has a classic format that could be expanded upon, I would have expected some form of interaction with the protagonist whilst she’s walking, perhaps even just to add more variety to the levels (a timer, linking movement commands to sequences, a limit on interactions when moving blocks) all in all, it’s still a good debut title in terms of gameplay, with a couple of levels that are actually quite satisfying

On the narrative side, the dialogue is nice, it works well and makes you grow fond of the protagonist, even if it lacks realism, the feels a bit too much like an inner monologue and lacks the nuance needed to make her come across as someone with her own life experiences, also works well to save most of the narrative impact for the end, this storytelling approach could also work well in a "chapter-based" release

It was also nice to have an interactive element in the dialogue, although the breaking of the fourth wall (a bit too predictable in this sort of game) didn’t work all that well, it somewhat undermined the cosmic and divine horror that the dialogue had been conveying beforehand, I’d also add that the final splatter scene was quite striking, I was a bit disappointed (I’m not sure if that’s the right term, I’m not very good at using English), you could have included this sort of scene a bit more often, I don’t know if there’s an authorial choice behind it or something else, but I would have liked it for the sake of the overall experience

It might be useful to have a menu of options, as well as the option to exit the game, maybe even the option to prevent the game from launching in full-screen mode (though that’s just my personal preference), especially if the warning about sensitive content mentions it, in which case it might be worth considering providing an emergency button to close the game quickly

I was working on the project, but it wasn't working for me.

Before throwing it away, I remembered a similar project I'd created for another game jam.
Although I'd submitted it, I'm no longer satisfied with it, so I've hidden it.

The idea was to merge the two projects, but even though I've seen other games on Itch that have been used as submissions, I'm not sure how fair that would be.
I wanted to know if that was a problem before proceeding?

I didn't know this, thanks for the quick reply

Hi,I have already delivered my game and I have already been notified of a possible fatal error, I wanted to know if it was allowed to make this kind of changes

Leaving aside that the error affects a frequent mechanic in the game (thought among other things on the Game Jam Theme) and that from the tests its execution is arbitrary so the worst kind of error to solve (I don't think I can solve it quickly) sometimes there is almost immediately, others only very rarely (as of now the error happens to me 1 time out of 7)

So I also wanted to understand if this would make the game invalid according to the criteria (I already made sure that it is also possible to finish it)

P.S. English is not my native language, when I can for my projects I get people who know it better than me to supervise me, but this message was made with an automatic translator, so I don't know how clear it can be

ah, I understood that 2nd place was only if there were more than 10 participants

Get yourself a pizza, it's on me

congratulations to ysybusybear, also to MeliJo (who by the way also managed to try some things of yours)

yes, it was fun, although my inexperience with Itch gave me some problems, I would have liked more space and more time at the end, but it's part of the game, thanks for the opportunity

Hi, I'm afraid it was mine and it's the first time I've heard this

I don't know what happened to my profile and why it's giving me these problems

(I don't know English and I'm relying on a translator)
