BROKEN CLOCKWORK leans hard into its steampunk aesthetic, and the visuals and vibe are a perfect match for the Machine theme.
The windup mechanic adds a fresh twist to the platforming formula — it forces you to think about timing and resource management in a way that feels organic to the setting. The near-death '!' indicator is a small but welcome touch that gives you just enough feedback.
But my absolute favorite feature has to be the death heatmap after each level. Seeing where you kept failing is both informative and weirdly satisfying — it turns frustration into data.
This game knows exactly what it wants to be, and it executes that vision well.
