  • This classic FPS-style game is quite solid. We were impressed by the overall quality, including the visual design, the enemies, and the level itself. It’s entertaining and fits the game jam theme about machines well 🤖 The interface is intuitive and easy to use, which makes it simple to get into the game quickly. One thing that could be improved is how clear it is when you’re actually hitting enemies. At times, it’s a bit hard to tell if your attacks are landing, so adding clearer visual and sound feedback would help make combat more readable and satisfying. Some of the UI text is also quite small, so increasing the font size would improve readability. In particular, elements like the “skip” option in the intro are easy to miss. As a small suggestion, it might also be worth adjusting the walking footsteps sound, since it feels a bit unrealistic and slightly squeaky. Overall, it’s a good game with a solid base and some interesting ideas, and it could become even better with a few refinements 😀 Congrats on the work, and thanks for choosing Phaser for the project!

Wow, the level of polish is so high! It must have been a huge challenge to bring it to this level in just 13 days! (ツ)ノ

love the look of this game!

It's quite a competent FPS on the likes of Wolfenstein/DOOM, impressive work on such a small amount of time.

This is an impressive work, I do not like 3d games but I know when it is well made, very good job on this one, good sfx, controls and gameplay

Great Doomenstein-like! Amazing for a jam.

My only request would be pleeese change the footstep sfx lol.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying it! Yep, way ahead of you on the footsteps, I got the sfx changed on the upcoming update!

This game has a very unique flair, I like it. since the enemies are billboards, is the rest of the game 2d too? or is it a 3d game with 2d enemies?

Developer(+2)

Thanks! It's actually all 2D. I built a custom raycaster from scratch for the jam, so the world is faking the 3D right alongside the enemies. I'm working on getting a version out after the jam that IS 3D using three.js.

wow, I didnt notice it is a 2d environment, thats crazy. I just got the idea from the enemy sprites that turn like a billboard.

Super awesome! Smooth controls and your game has a very tense atmosphere to it. The your art is top tier. Very well done!

Developer

Thank you for playing it!!

I have no idea how managed to create sprite animations that work so well and run so smoothly! The shield reacts really good

This game was insane. I loved the theme, animations, and the play style. I think if you had made different sound design choices with the second floor, it would have become even more terrifying since the mechanic was already good. Really good entry.

Can't wait to see if you develop this further! I’m stunned by how good this looks and plays.

Wow! as a tech demo this is amazing. As a modern day "wolfenstein 3d"-in space, it's a little less fun than I was hoping tho. I think the random levels are just too self-similar. have you played any modern wolf-style games? you might check out dosman games for some ideas of how to make the simple geometry more fun.

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! I'm working hard on releasing one more giant update before the game jam is over. You should check it out again then! I'll look into dosman games also.

I feel you on the time crunch. I am also rushing to have a complete product. However, I think they said that it's actually fine if you want to continue to tweak and polish after the deadline. You just have to get yourself in there before the deadline, which we both have, so yay us!
