Interesting idea, unfortunately, during the first playthrough I somehow couldn't knock out enough machines from the aliens (probably because of the bug you mentioned in the game description), but after a reload I was able to and reached the end :). I also liked the super jump.
It was fun, congratulations!
Yay! Thanks for bearing with the bug and sticking it out! Thanks so much for playing!
I found the art to be very endearing! A random idea: instead of the tower robots appearing when you collect 100% scrap, you ride your fixed ship out of the planet.
Thanks so much! I like your idea! That is what I had in mind for the secret ending (coming soon). The current ending is meant to be a subversion; you think you will ride away on the ship once you collect 100% of the parts, but the tower robots get revenge on you instead!
Haha that makes sense!
Great work! Makes me want to know more about these cryptic creatures and what the ending could mean. Ooh, is that Beepbox I hear? I'm a huge fan and use it for all my music, haha.
Yay, that was exactly my intention! Yes, I used BeepBox; I am a fan as well!
I really enjoyed playing. The art and color-scheme are so good, and I really enjoyed the game dynamic of the red blocks that give you the jump boost. Sound effects and the sound are spot on. Also I appreciate the hint of pressing e/x when you’re near the giant caterpillar/machine/entity. First time with Godot? How did you like the experience?
Thanks so much for the kind words! Seems a lot of people liked the art style, so it will be something I stick with!
Godot is my favorite engine I have used so far! I have also tried Phaser and GDevelop, and Godot sits right in the middle with ease of use. GDevelop is a little easier to use, and Phaser is the hardest of what I have tried. Being experienced with other game engines, I found Godot pretty easy to pick up. I just watched one platformer tutorial, and then I was able to find some more specific tutorials on other stuff I was looking for. The scene-based system and built-in animation timeline are really cool. I am looking forward to exploring it some more
Hi! Streaming your game now:
Thanks so much! It was so valuable to watch someone play my game! Thanks for sticking with it through the bug. A lot more people experienced it than I thought, but it was a good lesson to test more!
Graphic style is really unique and awesome! Fun game with lots of potential. Adding some juicy particles and maybe a time limit and some enemies would take it to the next level. Good job!
Thank you for playing and for the great suggestions!
Very beautiful game. I really love the art style, which is very unique. I also like the cozy atmosphere and the chill vibe. Unfortunately, I experienced a bug where getting scrap from the robots did not work anymore. The animation of the scrap was not shown (only the robot moving), but then also the counter did not go up. I think I found all the scrap, but was only able to reach about 50 %.
Congratulations to your first Godot game which especially looks amazing!
lovely art style. fun to play. I hope you develop further and add some more mechanics into the gameplay.
very cute and relaxing! really appreciate the art, and also the end animation. also super easy to pickup. a little tip for the future - consider playing around with gravity when making platformers. sometimes stronger gravity (and stronger jumps) make it feel more responsive
there also seems to be a bug when you jump while harvesting - the worm can disappear without giving you scrap. though I managed to restart and avoid it again :)
Thanks so much! That is really good feedback on gravity and jumping! Thanks for detailing your experience with the bug. Glad you were still able to get through the game!
Well done. The art was great, the audio fit perfectly with the sense of dread. Really good game concept.
Thank you! Glad the audio did it for you!
This was really fun, the art style is strong! I did notice a small glitch, once I hit 64/67% the caterpillar looking things stopped giving scrap out when I interacted with them. Great little game though.
Thank you so much! Sorry you experienced the bug. That info will be helpful for when I work on fixing it. Cheers!
Well crafted. Eash concept. One of the games I played with easy without any challenge.
Really nice game! I liked the character a lot it stands out nicely.
Maybe you could add a bit more polish to things like the fire animation, and introduce more variety in the world to make it feel more unique. Overall, great job!
That is really great feedback! Thank you for playing!
Great character designs! The controls felt so familiar, like the games I played growing up. It really makes me want to learn more about the world-building! (ツ)ノ
Really glad you were interested in the world I was building! Means a lot!
Loved the art style, but couldve been longer. Still i Loved it
Glad you would have played longer! I think it would be awesome to add some more characters!
Interesting expositional game! art is cute but would've been nice to have a few more mechanics to begin with or have to interact with something more than just collecting scrap. Hope you keep developing this!
Thank you so much! I agree and I would love to keep developing and building out the world!
woah your art is amazing
Thank you!
That was enjoyable, and felt just the right length for the depth of mechanics. The jumping felt a little too floaty, especially when jumping up the staircase-like slopes at points, was a little frustrating. The visuals were just lovely. I felt bad harvesting scrap from my larger brethren, and was glad to see they got their revenge in the end :D.
Glad you enjoyed the art and story! Appreciate the feedback!
I hit the bug you mentioned once, non the less I had a really good time. Very good work on the art and music. I really like seeing people take to time to draw and compose everything. It takes a while but the work doesnt go unnoticed!
Thanks for noticing! It was my first time getting more in-depth with the art, and I think it was a success!
Oh, you composed the music too! It had such a curious blend of quirky and mystical, really intriguing!
Thank you so much man! No worries about bringing up the bug. I wish I had fixed it before the jam was over, but you feedback should help nail down the cause. Thank for playing and appreciating the art and music! Means a lot!
