I love the vibes.

But it seems like I can just attack everything forever. I did die eventually. I know that I can’t just attack forever. but it SEEMS like I can until I can’t. And when I can’t, it resets back to the beginning. So the lesson of what I’m suppose to do is behind several minutes of doing what I already know until I actually can start experimenting. A reset to previous fight, rather than a reset game, would go a long way to help the user focus on figuring out the challenge and not waste time on getting to the challenge.

If this was a retail game, that might not be as much of an issue: people are more willing to spend time figuring out a game they bought than their general expectation for a jam.

vibes immaculate.

the combat system is surprisingly engaging for being so simple.

did two attempts and on both died to the multi-armed angel (Vestis?) that seems to be giving other people a lot of trouble, getting booted all the way back to the start is pretty rough. Even so, the whole package is so great it's hard to be mad.

The vibes are there and I really like the usage of the statues and general aesthetic to create all the surrealism and such.

I will freely admit, however, that I simply am not a fan of "The game is figuring out how the game works" games, so I can't really give much feedback on gameplay that wouldn't be super heavily biased because of that :P

I did like the silly little plodding bloops of the mannequin jerkily trotting around, though. Most I could comment on has already been said by others, so I'll just say it's great you got something done and playable and submitted, and I only wish I could understand what it actually is :P

Interesting!

I was basically able to Attack everything nonstop until the 5th fight, at which point I died and got kicked back to the beginning.

There's something interesting happening under the hood, but I don't think it's communicated clearly enough. Far as I can tell, seasons are essentially weaknesses in regards to attack, but seem to affect every action to some degree.

Either way the vibe was immaculate; I was bobbing my head and enjoying myself, even when I was confused.

tysm!!

you actually almost cracked it, thats kinda the point of the game really lolll
since its been a while after the game was uploaded, i'll share an evil scary secret....
one of the main features of the game is the fact that it actually records all the interactions you do in the game, and at the end it shows your stats and how well you managed to balance the seasons. for example - summer & autumn have boosted attack, since they are considered to be more "agressive". and then at the end the game sorta predicts your game-personality-type - how much your IRL personality differs from how you play games!

Really well done with the art style and vibes, the combat sequences were surreal while still being approachable. It felt rough getting kicked back to the beginning after not beating the 5th fight

Love the sound design and atmosphere, but I'm not sure I fully understand the mechanics...
I'm not sure if the seasons just act like elements (with preferred actions), it mostly just seemed alright to spam attack and burst...

heyall! in order to keep things fair, the web version over at the game's itch io page is only 1.1f, which is the version made during jam's original timeframe. if you want to play newer builds (that are planned to go to steam collection if are stable), you can either download the latest 1.2_sc1 builds, or goto https://contrario.dsinkerii.com/ (i hope it works now xd).

tysm for playing yall!

Made it all the way to the multi-armed angel and got absolutely destroyed. Not gonna pretend that I fully understand how it works but it's got a real vibe.

I got my ass beat lmao. The visuals are fun, but the lack of checkpoints was quite a pain for me 😭

okay so a tiny thing we noticed from playing other games - turns out we got the wheel mechanics wrong lmaooo
turns out that by design it originally spins clockwise, not counter-clockwise, and the segments that get locked still spin in success rate, not also get locked...... should it stay like that tho? was it a good mechanic idea or get fixed in later revisions?

it was fun, I liked the battle mechanics and the visual and auditory style. the fighting seem'd a bit difficult to wrap my head around, as both the wheel operated differently, and it was somewhat unclear what I was supposed to do. I was not able to finish it, as I got somewhat dissapointed when I found out I lost all of my progress upon death. I would suggest also adding mouse controls for movement if you do end up updating it. that could make it flow a bit nicer since everything else uses the mouse.

the whole system with seasons actually represents the big 4 temperaments - sanguine, choleric, melancholic & phlegmatic (technically a bit of a spoiler, but it probably should've been in the tutorial, tho we did try to make it as simple as possible xddd);
so for example, it's best to strategize spring & summer for attack, as they have max attack factors; winter for blocking, and autumn for inspecting different stats.

Beautiful visuals and sound design!

I really liked the combat idea, got me strategizing.

The only 2 things I would change is the wobbling on the cobble paths, it is a little hard on the eye and maybe some pitch variation in the walking SFX, it can become a little numbing.

ill make sure to change those things for the steam release, thanks for the notes!!
