This is not a game I expected it to be - where is my brainrot and why any therapy is involved? :D
Your game captures the SHRINKING theme in one of the best ways I'd say. Progression and short game loop kept me playing for longer than I anticipated!
I sometimes had random "spikes" of negative thoughts killing me; not sure if it's intended and I'm missing a clue to dodge it, or it's a bug.
Overall, a pretty solid entry.
Fun and interesting game idea, was addicted to play and getting skills was fun way to keep the game going trying get better score with them. I not sure if i say it a bullet hell but still good game overall. Good work on it, it was good fun to play
Very unique implementation of the theme! The gameplay loop is extremely engaging as I would try to keep upgrading my skill tree to push back the negative thoughts for longer
I guess one improvement I can suggest is that sometimes I feel like the negative thoughts suddenly close in completely or sometimes I die when the thoughts dont touch me, though im not sure if it s a bug or part of mechanic itself
very addicitng and fun game!
It`s unique way to handle theme good job !I cannot say that`s a bullet hell but it definitely fits well for theme
Visual and Sfxs are also enough for a jam and gameplay it`s fun ! Congrats :D
this is a really unique game nice :)
I enjoyed this a lot!
It was a pretty well implemented game, though I would appreciate it if the game's difficulty increased with survival time because once the breakaway happened it ended up feeling a bit aimless because the failure state to purchase more items felt so voluntary.
I did end up playing long enough to obtain every item and getting the free state of mind because the feedback loop of checking out better and better items was satisfying.
The sound design and graphics were fun to look at and listen to.
It seemed a little glitchy if you let the negative thoughts cross through the center, causing spikes to appear and the fill to despawn as the model inverted on itself, the collision detection there also could unexpectedly pierce you.
The concept of your own bullets forming the bullet hell was really interesting. I had some issues with visibility on certain bullets, and it felt particularly assbackwards that the bullets that don't hurt you on rebound are specifically the ones with the spikes on them.
Some of the quotes hit pretty close to home, haha.
Very good game! At start I did not understand how I died and I wouldn't be paying attention to my own bullets either. But this could have been also the fact that I kept trying to read all he quotes on the wall and the combat text quotes, and there was a good variety of these too so I guess suffering from success?
After a few tries (not hard, not easy, maybe it could be a tad more intuitive at start) the game opened up and with a bit of grind I'm free now, at least my mind is.
All in all quite an unique experience, where theme, sound, visuals and writing go hand in hand to offer a bit more; you get to stop and think for a second 'what did the author mean there', and that's a good thing to have in a game.
Gratz, well done!
The game is really fun! The concept of your OWN bullets becoming the bullet hell is really interesting and I love it!!! Nice work :P
the design of this really resonated with me. once i realized that the positive thoughts were bouncing back to hit me sometimes i really understood that this had a deeper understanding of mental health than it first appeared.
My critiques are mostly gameplay related, it isn't really explained that the bullets bounce back at you so a good few runs i died from full health for shooting a wall right in front of me, and if any piece of the negative thoughts reach the center it tends to cause the whole thing to freak out, which felt more like a glitch than an intended feature. if it was going to do that some kind of visual indicator for the center would have been nice, and also a bit more of a differentiation between bullets going away from me vs coming towards me, so that it was easier to see something was about to hit me.
Really awesome design! the upgrade system is fantastic and this was a lot of fun to play!
Thank you for the feedback and playing our game :)
Most of the things you mentioned were on our board but didn't have time to complete them, so you are completly right.
It was a good experience, but the first few moments felt very hard. As I progressed though, it started getting easier. I’ll go away with my free state of mind now! Cheers 😄
Thank you for playing all the way though :D
it was quite a fun and unique game to play. I loved how you made up the skill tree, at least that's what I think it is, would have been a little better experience If I knew what was I upgrading. My best time was 15 seconds.
Loved the concept of the game!
Now I'm going to enjoy my free state of mind.
It was somehow relaxing to play a game where death doesn't matter that much between two punishing ones. I specially like the overall silliness of the thing, I think the cloud of thought shrinking is very well implemented and I enjoyed fighting my best against my next inevitable death.
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome entry! I fully completed the game and it was very fun! My only gripe is that i wish the upgrades explained what they did a little better. For example i still dont know what acceptance or work out do. But congratulations on making such a fun entry!
Hey, I reached a free state of mind while playing this game!
Thematic parallels run so deep it made me think maybe I can apply some of that in my own life. Like, when I find myself in a dark place and become very low on self esteem, I only need to find somebody else's brain and eat it to recover.
Jokes aside, it feels unique with the way you need to dodge your own projectiles, and the way the field shrinks is done in a very cool way. I enjoyed a lot playing through this!
Letsgoo you completed it! Thank you for playing 😊
Lol I really liked the concept. You really implemented theme of shrinking pretty well also the dialogues in between was a great detail. As a lot of comment already say that it was a bit confusing and challenging at first but it becomes more playable after getting the upgrades. Overall a nice jam game!
funny game lowkey i love how its named brainrot, nice game!!
I didn't get how to play.
can you pls elaborate? Happy to help to try the game. The controls are WASD and fire with a mouse click to whatever direction you are facing and your goal is to keep the wall shrinking around you away. It’s hard at first but you can buy upgrades at the store to make it easier
That's really a fun game. The idea is great and I like also how the shop is made. :)
Great job!
Totally accurate thinking simulator 2026 !
Jokes aside this is pretty fun to play and i like what you did with the theme ^^
Some mechanics are a bit confuning at first, i didn’t really got at first that some of your bullets could hurt you and often wondered what killed me :p
But i really enjoy how the game never really punishes you and lets you try again and again as you can slowly make your way to unlocking all of the upgrades.
Overall reallysolid and quite an original concept, well done:)
Thank you very much, happy that you enjoyed it :)
