The screenshake was ABSURDly too much I basically could not tell what was happening at first boot
The graphics and presentation was generally pretty good.
Both player and boss had wayyy too much health so the few patterns present lasted way too long.
A bullet-hell themed around cereal is a first for me, and yet it’s a pretty creative interpretation of the theme! The overall presentation plays nicely with this concept, for the simple and colorful visuals really sell the sugar-coated, fruit-flavored madness that’s going on inside the cereal bowl. Though there were a lot of bullets on screen, I felt that the high amount of HP that the player starts with makes this a little too easy. Regardless, this is a pretty fun entry!
its a crazy world down there ;) ...I'm glad you enjoyed!
im not sure if im doing anything wrong but i cant left click to shoot for some reason in the browser version hahahah
I do love the chaotic nature of the game though and the graphics do fit the overall vibe very well! good attempt!
So original! Great use of the theme. I absolutely love the color pallete here. the overall vibe is just warm and fun!
that's some in medias res bullet hell, but since you're particularly invincible in the first stage it's no issue. the spoon is great though, and the obvious selling point of the game, the art style looks very refreshing and fun.
I'm glad you enjoyed :)
Game looks great, very interesting and unique aesthetics. The gameplay is very chaotic and doesn't strike me as particularly well designed. The stage patterns are just pure chaos. It doesn't help that the players shot blends in with the enemy shots, and that enemies can hide behind cover in such a way that you're forced to enter lines of bullets. The boss patterns are the complete opposite: very basic and static. To compensate for the chaotic stage and lack of i-frames, the player just has like 100 lives. The boss also has a lot of health and drags on, especially if you're not aiming well with your mouse.
Yeaa... some of these are hacks to compensate for the lack of some good design... thanks for the feedback. I'll improve in my future games :D
I WON!
The boss fight was my favourite part because I did more actual dodging, although rushing into the melee before that was exciting too anyway.
The game is fun, it has a cool, distinctive look, the popping sound when destroying an enemy is engaging. The game controls perfectly, it's fast and punchy and the difficulty is perfect for the jam.
Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad you enjoyed crysp :D
What a fresh aestetic! Shooting felt good and the unique designs had me engaged. c:
I find the first phase very chaotic, but also stagnant, it was in my best interest to simply find a corner and wait there for enemies to come to me, rather than the game compelling me to leave my little hole and interact with it, i think the obstacles contributed to that in someway, making it hard for me to shoot bullet spawning fruits from distance without falling into their line of sight. The amount of health i had also made me feel invincible, i almost wish we had a small amount that regenerated or something?
I experienced what i think was a glitch where the little square cereals in the boss arena would hit me from much farther away than it looked like they should have, around 4 or 5 player lengths.
good level of difficulty, fresh aestetic, i had fun c:
Oh you found the corner trick haha... I knew had to do smt about it :) I'm really glad you enjoyed it :D
The 1st part feels like a war hahaha, I really like how chaotic this game feels and how many bullets you can shoot. It’s nice enemies can’t spawn near your position so it doesn’t feel unfair or it feels safe that a strawberry won’t spawn next to you
The visuals are nice and the song makes it a little epic or that you are actually fighting for your life
I would liked 1 or 2 more pattern with the spoon and it’s nice you have a HP bar, I don’t think I would clear this without a hit hahaha, fun game and concept, I liked it ^^
Survive the war and onto the king >:D ...I would've loved to add more patterns tooo but time kinda ran out. better to have a small finished games instead of a large unfinished one, right? ;p
I agree, small completed games are good, also it's already fun as it is now haha :)
Very polished title screen and UI. The pause screen was fun, and I loved the Game Over audio lol.
There was a lot of visual polish in this game. I really liked the way the enemies popped when they died, and how the player bullets collided with the enemies, especially noticeable on the spoon. The subtle screen shake was very nice too. It helped me confirm I was hitting the boss without needing to stare directly at it, but it was still subtle enough that it didn't interfere with dodging bullets.
This was the very definition of bullet hell, so the use of cover was much needed. The aesthetic was really nice, and the color palette was very pretty. The popping noises from the enemies were ear candy too, honestly a very addictive sound.
This was a really fun entry. And how I'm craving Fruit Loops.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the game :D ...no Fruit Loops were harmed in the making of this game (No promises heheh)
