Love the gameplay to this! You're doing a lot of work with a small amount of mechanics. I like how there's kinda multiple purposes to everything, collecting fish is also a weapon, speed is useful for faster collection or better dodging, that kind of thing. The upgrade screen is very juicy, I absolutely love the way the fish zoom into the upgrade you pick. Only real gripes are the bgm not looping, and that sometimes I'd still have fish left over after doing the upgrade animation that seemed to have already been "submitted" but didn't move into the upgrade.

Great intuitive little game! I liked the game feel of moving my little sub around.
Some of the upgrades icons were a bit unclear to me at a glance, so I had to work it out after purchasing the upgrade. The music randomly stopped playing while sitting in the upgrade screen.
Otherwise nicely executed concept!
Had fun with this, practicing swinging fish into sharks is satisfying when you start to get it.
I found the starting runs a bit too short to the point of frustration. As you start to be able to do longer runs and get chased by a lot of sharks, runs become less rewarding as most of the fish end up hitting sharks which doesn't seem right.
This is a very intuitive and fun game with lots of potential for a commercial version. The only issue i had was that the beginning was sluggish as there wasnt much of a way to avoid the sharks and you can only get about 2 fish per run.
Really really fun, and very intuitive. A great, unique idea for a casual little incremental game. I loved that you could swing the fish around to kill the sharks. I think the only problem I had was that the sharks felt pretty overbearing at times. I did like how dangerous they were at first, to give the incremental upgrades something to push back against, but towards the end of the game they kind of became a nuisance, basically eating up all your fish as they swung unpredictably around and right into the giant groups the sharks formed. Maybe you could introduce a stronger enemy as time goes on instead of just more and more sharks? Either way, I really enjoyed this, and I would genuinely encourage you guys to add more content and polish up the art and the sound and release it officially. I would buy it if you did :)
I found this pretty easy to pick up and play. The icons all made sense, except it took me a bit to realize one of them was a bicep (for strength). I'm curious how the game would feel if you could try to hook as many fish as you wanted (but it kept slowing you down as a penalty). After playing for a little bit, I was hoping for more things to change up the gameplay. The control of the little boat felt great
Here's a playtest!
Very cool idea! But it took me far too long to realize that upgrades only become active when a level is filled, so I was just spending my fishies on a little bit of everything and wondering why nothing about the gameplay was changing :) I think this would be much clearer and also more fun if the initial progression was quicker.
Minor bugs: The background music doesn’t loop, and the shop sometimes still displays some fish in the net that can’t be spent.
I think this is the most intuitive game I've tried so far for the jam! Great work! Some of the upgrade paths were a little unclear. It feels like an incremental game, but I wish the upgrades came a little faster! had to play a while to get a few upgrades to make the game feel different.
Pretty fun once you grind a few early upgrades! The music stopped playing for me after the first loop but I thought it was good. The icons for the upgrades weren't immediately clear to me so I had to work out what they did through trial and error. Nice work, I could see this working well outside of the jam without the WORDLESS constraint
I couldn't figure out if there was a way to get away from the sharks other than keep upgrading speed? Pretty intuitive game otherwise but felt like I would have to keep grinding to be able to collect more than a few at a time. Would have been nice if the sharks swam away if you were in your safe zone or something so there was some skill involved at the start?
Yeah i couldn’t figure uot how to balance them correctly in time they where ether pushovers from the start or completely dominate you, i decided that they would be able to catch up to you easily without upgrades to keep the power curve going, but yeah it would need a redesign later. Thanks for playing
It felt grindy at first and I wasn't sure what upgrade would be the best. The pendulum became a bit frustrating because the longer it got the harder it was to collect the fish. At some point, the game was more of a wrecking ball against the sharks.
With some balancing, this can become very enjoyable. At this state I think I've played 40min of it lol
The idea is very intuitive and quite fun, although the upgrades take quite a while to earn. The music is awesome, shame it doesn't loop!
Sharks fear my fish nunchuks.
"Are you saying getting max hearts will be easy?" "I'm saying when you're ready, you won't need hearts."
solid submission, I really dig the atmosphere. It feels a bit too grindy for me, but design-wise, the mood and overall elements were nice. Turns out incrementals dont need text that much, it feels fun to figure out what upgrades do what. I tried to pull that off too, my game was also an incremental and it was a cool challenge. I think you did a better job than me, the upgrades in your game feel much clearer. Good job on the game!
