Really fun puzzle game. I thought it was mostly intuitive and easy to pick up, but it seemed like some areas would be reset when a satellite got blown up and some wouldn't, with no indication on which was which. I also found the fourth level particularly unintuitive, it took me a while to understand that you could use two satellites at once, and even after I understood that I had a hard time figuring out exactly how it was supposed to work. It seemed like you could shoot a second satellite once one satellite reached a certain area on the screen? But there was not indication on where this would happen. I actually thought it was broken for a while and almost quit, which would have been unfortunate cause I really loved the puzzles that came after it. All in all though, it was a fun time, and I found most of the puzzles really satisfying :)

Thank you for your feedback and for sticking through and playing later levels! The mechanic at play is the red signal that goes out when a satellite is launched triggers any existing satellites it reaches to self-destruct and any objectives the signal reaches are reset. But if a satellite or objective is in the shadow of a planet where the signal can’t reach it won’t be destroyed/reset. That is what we were trying to teach in levels 3 and 4 but I don’t think those levels succeeded in communicating the mechanic like we hoped.

I was able to pick it up quite easily and understand what was going on. Perhaps the green goal orbs could distinguish themselves a little more than the planets, but other than that - it made sense. I felt like I was cheesing a few of the intro levels by making several satellites at once (not getting all the orbs in one go), however in a later level that didn't work, and I got a little stuck. Perhaps there's someway to communicate on the goal orbs "you have to get all these in one go?" Anyways, nice little puzzle game. Here's a playtest

You ended up making a similar game to my group! (oh i see my teammate already commented that lol) Its really cool and its good to see that other people had a similar idea shows that people were interested in the same thing! Really good stuff! I loved the visuals and the feel - saw something things would of liked to added to our game!

You ended up making a really similar game to ours! even the level select screen is similar. loved the gravity wave visuals, thats something we ought to have added to show gravitational strength. really cool stuff lol!

Developer

Yeah I saw your game and thought the same thing, lol! After we submitted our project and before we saw yours, we were actually talking about how placing the gravity sources would have been a better puzzle mechanic than firing the satellite, so I was really excited when I saw your project. Your project is also amazingly polished, and very fun to play - definitely one of my favorites from the projects I have checked out!

Awesome game!  Also, interesting progression of mechanics, and good difficulty ramp.  Well done.

Developer

Thank you! It took a good bit of playtesting to get the difficulty at a reasonable level, our first playtesters found our first level designs so difficult they thought it was a rage game, lol!

it excels at make you use your thinking. although i couldn't finish the final level because the game had a bug where i couldn't rotate the shooter, i do believe the artstyle should have been a bit more simpler imo

well definitely the most interesting ones i seen of the early releases of the jam. i would however say it takes skill to aim without increasing the power.

I cannot shake the feeling that I get rewarded by spamming one attempt after the other, instead of trying to think where to launch the satellite.

Good concept

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! We intentionally were trying to allow the player to make multiple attempts quickly since this was supposed to be a 5-10 minute game, but I do agree that we didn't find a perfect solution to just spamming attempts.

Not my cup of tea but I get how to play this game. I wish there would be clear clue on hidden goals and goals which must be hit in single flight so I don't have to try over n over.

BTW turns out it is left ctrl instead of right ctrl.

I loved this!! Super fun, cleared all the levels :)

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Brilliant puzzle!

Thank you!

A cool idea and well executed! It was fun just playing with the physics and seeing some unpredictable results! Thanks for sharing!

Developer

Thanks! We thought the same, when we were prototyping the mechanics we realized it was a lot of fun just messing around trying to hit different shots and see how the satellite interacted with gravity over time.

Nice job! Found it a bit challenging getting the trajectory correct, but the game was fun and very self-explanatory :)

Developer

Thanks! Finding the right trajectory on some levels is definitely somewhat fiddley, but we weren't able to think of a perfect solution to fix it.

Fun game with a reasonable challenge. Beating each level is rewarding, nice job!

Thanks!

I got stuck on the 4th level ;_;

We decided to unlock all the levels (so you don't have to complete a level to advance), so if you want you can check out the rest of the levels!
