I really love the artstyle. Such a cool idea and game. You would definitely like the games from Joe Richardson. He uses artworks for his point and click games. They are my favorite and you really nailed it. Good job! :)
i got to week 89. i will probably come back to it at some stage and get to the end but from what i played it was quite enjoyable and the ocean sounds were nice. Took me ages to find the ship in the first place.
Instead of going through the Strait of Magellan I tried to go around the continent completely, keeping south of Tierra del Fuego, buuuut that didn't go so great. I see now you were telling the player to avoid the area completely.
I think this was mainly my fault. But maybe adding a warning to that whole area on the map and/or framing the map so you didn't have to visually circumnavigate it would have helped (not having Tahiti to the west of S. America but to the east of Australia).
I like the artistic choice of making it look like a collage, and I still had fun playing.
I don't typically like turn based games, but I really enjoyed this one. It was hard to tell where the ship was at the beginning - the color of it and the dotted line both kind of blend into the background. I would love to see them brighter to make it more obvious that that is your ship and where you have previously been, I really appreciated the full historybuff angle on the theme since most of the rest of the jammers went with being a bounty hunter(my team included).
Loved the idea and the global aesthetics. Tho it was kinda hard to find the ship after exploring the map, maybe a button to center the camera on it could help ? Loved the little events and the managements aspects of things. Couldn't find where to cross america, so I stopped at Mexico ahah. Very cool and unique experience!
Thanks for the advise! I have just updated the game description to mention that you can circumnavigate the map. My intention was to make the player travel east via Indonesia and get to Tahiti that way.
Very cool aesthetics
