I assume there's asparagus in the toilet in the lore.
The ending made me chuckle! The tutorial was well done and the game was indeed very self-explanatory. I think some sfx would go a long way to improving the game feel though, the interactions felt like they lacked impact without them. The slime animation was cute though!
The tutorialization on this was very well done! I maybe would have enjoyed a fourth obstacle type and for the obstacles to appear a bit faster too, the whole game was a bit of a steam roll. The ending really got me though. Great job!
if you only have 3 things the player does I think they really really should have had SFX, I found the flute in the music track pretty annoying too
Yeah, definitely my bad on the missing SFX. I remember thinking about it, but got a bit distracted with helping out in other parts of the game.
Haha love the slimes goal, didn't see that coming. The slow downs to tutorialise are a really nice way to teach the player, easy to understand and very clear what the player has to do. Great work!
It also helps that we did something *very* simple, haha. (2/3 of us weren't around for a week) We left a lot of things on the cutting room floor, but it's been great to see people still getting a kick out of this silly experience. :P
Extremely adorable and silly! Enjoyed the reveal of the motivation for our slime friend's quest, though an eventual victory screen might have been nice.
Overall was fun to play through, though the timing around clicking the buttons ended up initially feeling a bit finicky, and then quite easy once one got the hang of it.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Ah yeah we didn't get to fine-tune various things, but I'm glad it all got figured out in the end.
Honestly I loved this!! Smashed the self explanatory, really liked the slowed down time for each new ability. The MSPaint art is very cute and charming and really fits the silly vibe of the game, music too. The sfx were fun and goofy and I liked every time a pig showed up and did its little noise lol. Saw the bathrooms in the castle and chuckled because they felt out of place but comedically, then I saw the slime one and all of a sudden everything made sense, the game name, the facial expression... their mission is a noble one. Currently writing this with the ending sound effect on constant loop and i find it hilarious every time it stops and it sounds like its done, it just keeps coming. Amazing game!!!
Thank you!!!! The MSPaint direction was 100% deliberate and I'm glad folks are enjoying it. Pangbot made pretty much all the sfx himself and he did great lol and he's also the one who grabbed the ending sound effect. Happy you enjoyed it!!!
Finished it pretty cool only thing I think may have improved it is if I had a reason to kill the pigs like maybe they had a chance to drop health or something, because after I unlocked the jump, I jumped over them because it felt easier
That makes sense! I'm kind of glad people are finding ways not to kill the pigs tbh lol. Thank you for playing :)
Excellent ending. Excellent ending.
It was very urgent!!!!!
I enjoyed this game quiet a bit! I really liked and got a chuckle out of the pig's angry animation. And the ending was pretty funny as well. Nice job! Definitely nailed the "self explanatory" theme.
I'm happy you got a kick out of it! I had a lot of fun drawing the pig lol. Thank you for playing!
I enjoyed this fun silly game, particularly the pig! I thought I could get sneaky and jump over everything, but the jump conveniently takes much longer than the other animations. It could be fun to allow some high-skill things, like stabbing the sword at the perfect time to deflect the arrow! Regardless, very straightforward, nice job
I've got your game timestamped in this group of playtesting videos
I'm happy folks like the pig!! High-skill stuff would definitely be a fun direction to take it, or just offering opportunities for more combos, maybe. Thank you for the playtest video too - glad you got a kick out of the ending hahah.
Short & fun experience! Definitely nailed the self explanatory. While having to replay it (because of losign) I wished the tutorial section would just play once, since it was quite annoying having to wait for the same pauses to occur.
I replayed it a couple times because I've found a bug. If you throw the shield or the sword when you get hit and the slime is stunned, the shield/sword are thrown, but go back to a position below the slime, which makes the weapons inusable for the rest of that game. You can fix this easily by unalowing the use of the buttons if the slime was hit
Good work!
That's fair re: the tutorial. And thank you for catching the bug! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Very intuitive, love the slow-mo on the tutorial bits, definitely got a smile and a laugh at the end.
Haha, glad it made you laugh! Thank you for playing!
Very intuitive controls, i especially liked how you slowed down time before introducing a new action, felt really good! Loved the slime animations :D
Thank you! I wanted to have the buttons appear as each obstacle needed to use each mechanic, though in hindsight I feel I should have a little cursor appear at first just so it was more obvious they are buttons to click with the mouse. I love the animations, Shen really did a great job on them! I'm really happy with how this project turned out, it was the first time I have done programming in so many years, and my first time using Godot. I feel like we all did a great job on it :)
I attained enlightenment after realizing I could jump over the cute boars instead of stabbing them. Thank you for providing the final clue to shedding my mortal coil.
I'm glad we could create something that had such an effect on you :)
The real path is to be a pacifist
hahaha. i did it! it was very fun!!!
Thank you so much! I feel like we all did a great job on this! The game jam also gave me a push to give programming a try again, and use Godot for the first time :)
it's quite adorable! I like purpose of your quest, very funny :)
Thank you so much! :)
Simply amazing on-boarding. Critical mission. On point foundation for the sound effects.
This game needs some key bindings and it'd be a solid rhythm game. Like a DDR tapper but with dnd fantasy obstacles. Nice
