Holy crap this was tricky, but in a good way! A really good way. The game play and visuals are so neatly tied into this little bow. Ironically the calming music made me feel more stressed while playing, but that's not a criticism- just a me thing.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Also, it seems as though I unfortunately can't try out your game "^^. I am away from my Windows PC until after the rating period ends and the HTML build doesn't seem to work...
Aw, that sucks. I'm not really sure why the html never worked (this is the artist commenting), but we've updated it once since the release and we're planning to again one more time on Sunday so, who knows?
The game feels great, the art is really good, and song is catchy. My only issue with the game is that the hitboxes on the spikes are huge, making the final level a huge jump in difficulty. Overall, I loved it, and would definitely play more if there's ever more levels!
Thank you so much! I've received a lot of feedback about how brutal the last level is LOL. And I'm adding more levels in a post jam update :D
Love the idea and the implementation !
I was immediatly hooked on the gameplay. The movements feel smooth and satisfying !
Thank you for the kind words :D
Very cool concept! The last level was brutally difficult compared to the rest, but I managed to clear it after switching over to a gamepad and trying it a couple dozen times.
Yeaaaaah, that last level goes from 0 to 100 pretty much instantly. Glad you were still able to clear it though! I'll see about adding some levels before it in the post jam update.
I love the idea ! You really did a great job at presenting the concepts of the gameplay without needing any words. It felt intuitive yet what a tricky game. I'll need to practice some more...
For real though, this has the potential the become such an atmospheric and challenging game, well done ! (Also I hope you enjoyed the camping trip)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! And yes, the camping trip was amazing :D
Really cool game! I like the concept of the controls being reverse in the lower region. It definitely makes for some mind-bending platforming as you have to work against your muscle memory. I mean that in a good way.
I ended up getting stuck in the level with the four columns of spikes. It did seem like the hitboxes for the spikes might have been bigger than they should have been? When I died and the game paused, the player wasn't overlapping with the spikes, so I'm not sure if it's a hitbox issue or the screen pausing slightly late.
Overall, nice job! The neon visuals alongside the ethereal music choice made for a very calming atmosphere, even when I kept dying on that one level, lol.
Thank you so much for the kind words! The last level with the spikes is VERY difficult. There is currently a bug with the game pausing half a second after the player hits a spike. So that's probably why you weren't overlapping. I'm working to get it fixed in a post jam update :)
I'm bad at this game but it's a really great idea and great execution ! I'll probably try to improve myself :)
Haha, the game is a little difficult LOL! Especially that last level (the one with the long jump between massive spikes). I appreciate you trying it out anyways and you're always welcome to return here to improve :)
oh yeah I kinda gave up on that level for now haha I think i'm too tired to coordinate my movements lol
Also, I'll check out your game some time tomorrow! I'm a little tired so I'm logging off for the night "^_^
ahah same, so tired ! this has been a tiring weekend (and week before that)
A+ game! Loved the feel of the mechanics. The visuals and audio were also top-notch!
Thank you so much! I'm glad the visuals worked out as I tried to put more effort into them than I usually do!
