I really like your models and your textures, that being said, it just kinda needed more? Or the hours needed to be a lot shorter. I got Mary and Medusa in the same mirror a few times too which was kind of frustrating, I don't know if that was intentional for added difficulty.
Hey! Thank you for trying the game!
I will let you know having Mary and Medusa potentially on the same mirror is intentional. I was debating on adjusting this ahead of time, but I did decided to keep it intentional.
I do completely understand the game needing more! I did intend this to be a “Night 1” level, I did feel there was something missing, and I do hope to refine this in the future to resolve this.
Otherwise, thank you for the feedback!
Cheers,

Ah, I see. I think because the game seems kind of straightforward, it comes off more as confusing or unaccounted for due to time rather than challenging- but that's something that could easily change if you choose to go further and make it more dynamic! With it being intentional, I don't think there was anything about the experience that was buggy (which is more than I can say about our game haha, it can be tough to get everything smooth and running). GGs
P.S. the level is programmed to be 5 minutes long. The game more likely needs more lol
This is not typically the genre of game I play but I found myself enjoying the challenge, even tho I don't really like screamers lol
Great job on the game and the idea, I think it would benefit from more of a lore if you decide to expand on it (like who you are and why you found yourself in this room), but by itself it's a great little game. Great and impressive job on the engine too ! You can be proud of yourself
Thank you! I appreciate it!
I’ll admit this was a tough one to add lore to, so It was easier to let the play testers come up with some lore. 🙃
Humor aside, If I had more time, this would definitely be something I would look into refining along with other levels.

I downloaded your game, but unfortunately there seems to be a visual bug that distorts everything. I'm not sure what could be causing it. I did extract the folder. I'm using Windows 11.
EDIT: I managed to figure it out. If anyone else has this issue, what I did was go to Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics. I added the game's exe file to the list of programs and then changed the GPU Preference to High Performance.
As for the game itself, I managed to win my second playthrough! I read the description. I wasn't sure if the eyes were the ones I were supposed to avoid or look at, until I died by looking at them. Once I figured that out, I realized the Bloody Mary appears later with the sound cue and the candles appearing. Once I figured out how both the enemies worked, it became pretty easy. My strategy was if I saw the eyes, flip between the other three mirrors until I see the eyes again, and then avoid that mirror. If I heard the music, I would quickly turn to and stare mirror with the candles until Mary appeared. I was able to survive the 6 hours pretty easily after that.
I like the concept of using mirrors for a horror game. I think the issue is once I realized how the mechanics worked, it became too easy and the tension was lost. Since the game is based on reacting to visual and sound cues, maybe you could play with that. Like visuals flickering in the mirror, or you hear the Bloody Mary sound cue, but Mary doesn't actually appear. Basically trying to psych out the player to keep them on edge and guessing. Maybe other sound cues that are unrelated to either enemy but make you question if something is about to happen.
Since you mentioned Five Nights at Freddy's in another comment, you could also introduce some tradeoff mechanic like that game had. In that game, doors and lights drain power. Maybe this game could have something similar with lighting/unlighting candles and limited matches? Just some ideas.
I hope my suggestions were helpful! Nice job!
Woah! Can you DM me how to replicate that on discord? I’m surprised my game engine does that! :O
Either way I’m glad you enjoyed the concept! I think learning to master the concepts is a point with these games, but I do understand. Even after I myself playtesting I found it difficult to fail, it does lose its edge. If I had more time for more levels, I think this is how I would personally intensify, the gameplay. I do however like the idea of psyching out the player with false queues when appropriate! I’m sure most people missed out on the child laugh in the mask.
I do like the other ideas too! I’ll see what can be done when I choose to adapt this game further.

This is a neat little thing. At first I wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing (still not sure actually), but there were some cool jump scares!
Thank you for following up! I appreciate the info!
I tried to go for a gameplay style reminiscent of Five Nights At Freddy’s if you’ve played those games. I do wish I had time to add an in-game guide of some sort, but if you do wish to understand further, I believe I hinted the functionality of each enemy in the game description. Do feel free to let me know if it’s unclear though!
