WOW! This entry is really incredible. I'm really happy to end my jam rating journey with this game.
It feels like a high-quality escape room. The narration, voice acting, and little puzzles are wonderful, truly. I also really like the pixelated graphics and the overall eerie atmosphere of the game.
Great work!
Wow! Thank you! That put a big smile on my face to read, really glad you enjoyed it so much and it was a good capstone to the end of your jam rating journey!
Dang, this one's cool. I love the setup, the voiceover, the overall idea, and most of the execution, but I think the presentation of information could do with more clarity. I also think the voice-over could cut to the chase a little faster. I like all the lines in the script in theory, but in practice I think some of them could be cut and the pacing would improve both in terms of not making the player wait, and in helping immersion because if time were of the essence, you'd think he'd want to get to it.
I'll admit I stopped at the mobility section, because I had no idea what order to pull the levers in. I heard three beeps but didn't see anything.
In terms of controls, I would prefer A and D for switching between consoles instead of Q and E so it could be consistent with the WASD control scheme. That kept tripping me up, though I appreciate showing the controls in the corner.
Anyway, even though I didn't make it that far I still really really like it, and I'm sure if I'd noticed the visual aid (wherever it is) I would have continued to enjoy the rest of it. Very atmospheric, very nicely done. There's a chance you might really enjoy the game Barotrauma.
Cheers!
Thanks a lot for playing and the feedback! ^^
This was so cool! Love the aesthetics and the overall vibes. The voice acting really pulled everything together. I'd love to play more of this, and if you're planning on developing it further, it would be great if it was possible to skip through dialogue, as the wait was sometimes quite long. Nice job!
Thanks a bunch for the kind words and the feedback! Super glad you liked the voice acting and the desire to play more really warms my heart. Would definitely have more QoL stuff in a non time constrained jam game! Thanks a lot for playing! :D
Very well done atmosphere!
I had no clue what to do with the Mobility section.
The first time I got distracted toward the end of the monologue leading to it, because by that time the Pressure system was on the verge of collapse again. I panicked and got it under control, then wasn't sure which station I was supposed to head to. Went to Mobility, which gave the ability to interact, so that seemed right. I had no clue how to "follow the instructions", or what the instructions might be, beyond three beeps, and exploded after pulling levers at random.
The second time I was prepared, listened attentively, and tried again. Go to the mobility section, instructions would be sent. I hear three beeps, I try the right handle, that's wrong. Three beeps again, I try the middle handle, that's wrong. I try pushing 3 on my keyboard, nothing happens. Maybe at this point I should have tried the first handle? That didn't make any sense to me, it was three beeps so it must be the right handle. But it wasn't. Maybe I didn't use the middle handle correctly, then I exploderized.
Restart for a third time... knowing I have to do the entire intro and second puzzle again, to get back to the one I still don't understand. A checkpoint system would be appreciated, I think! Or the ability to skip ahead past already seen dialogue at least. Or for the game to run in the background while I type my progress so far in this paragraph. :)
So, third attempt with Mobility. Three beeps. I pull first lever. Nothing bad happens, an arrow on the display turns green. I pull third lever, still nothing bad, so then I try the middle lever. 1 turns green on the display, that's progress! Now I hear four beeps... no indication of anything else. I try first lever, failure. Four beeps, I try third lever, failure. Four beeps, I try middle lever, explosion. No idea what I'm missing, sorry!
Really sorry you got stuck on it! The panel itself with the arrows will display the order of the arrows to press when it beeps by changing their colour to the pattern you're intended to press, however the change in colour of the arrows is may be more subtle for some than I realized, it's from the standard yellow colour to an orange. I already knew it was a bit difficult to see, but depending on the player's display capabilities and setup, I suppose it might be possible for it to be almost indistinguishable from the starting colour, it was on my list of things to adjust to make it more obvious, but completely ran out of time on it and figured it wouldn't have been that big of a problem, that's on me! Thanks for trying to play though, and for writing up such a detailed account! ^^
It's really hard to see on my monitor, but I did catch it thanks to knowing what to look for! (I then blew up on the impulse section part...)
Hahaha, well hey thanks for going back and giving it another shot at least! :D
Very vibey, reminded me of Iron Lung! I might recommend adding the ability to pause. I had a screaming child midway through and missed some instructions, so I got stuck. What I was able to play was nice though!
A great puzzle escape room like game. I can see it working in VR as well.
Thanks a lot for playing ^^
Twas amazing, almost pooped my pants. 10/10
hehehe, thanks a bunch! :D
Great game
I like the narrator’s voice
It feels so real
Thank you! I voiced it myself and tried very hard to give it the proper vibe.
These kinds of games always impress me so much in a game jam! They're so detailed asthetic wise and gameplay is very cool. It's something I could never even think of doing. Great job!
Thanks so much! Super appreciate it and the compliments on the aesthetics ^^
Pretty cool game! The mechanics took some deciphering but it was fun once I got it. The game also has a rather cool aesthetic, the low poly and low res textures making it all look jagged, rough and industrial, which fits the theme very well. Overall I quite enjoyed it, well done!
Thanks a lot for playing! :D
Very nice! It has a 7th Guest vibe.
Oh wow! What a compliment! Thank you! So much!
Great atmosphere and really well put together, excellent work!
Thank you so much! We worked really hard on it.
