Very nice and very big game for the time. I loved the story and the graphics, but I got stuck after I had to connect the other three moons. But to be honest, I am not very good at these games, so that is not your fault. Amazing work!
Thanks for playing and apricate the feedback.
Nice, Walking and Flying in one, loved shooting the space rocks.
Thanks for taking the time to give it a go. Wanted to get more stuff to shoot with the ship but ran out of time.
It looks like a fun game, but I get motion sickness from moving around, probably just not used to walking around tiny dwarf planets irl.
Bummer, guess you don't play a lot a VR games. Thanks for playing and giving some feedback.
Hell yeah! My favorite one so far. I don't know why but it was just the vibe I needed right now.
The graphics are so simple but work really well with the music and sound effects. The different mechanics were really cool. I was never bored (although I almost gave up with the thruster-platform-puzzle. It was really hard to land on the platforms without really seeing them below). The story was simple but well done and altogether a satisfying journey.
I had so much fun.
Dude!! Thank you for such a great review and feedback. Glad you had a good time playing. It was a toss up to move the directional light for shadows on the thruster planet or keep some other art looking better. Apricate you playing.
Really well done on this. Maybe a tad ambitious but you've achieve a lot in the time. The setting is fun. It was nice try to figure out what you needed to solve each moon. I quite liked the ship controls. The music was a good fit for the vibe for the game.
Thanks for playing and the great feedback. My partner Nat composed all the music for this game. I was thrilled with how the music fit the vibe as well. Thanks again for you time playing and I like the ship controls too!!!
Really solid entry, I was pretty impressed by how good all the vehicles felt, though I was a little lost about what I should be doing initially. It took some exploring around each planet to figure out which I could actually solve first, but I figured it out and completed the whole game in the end. Maybe a little more pointing towards the first planet would make it smoother. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback and playing the game. I agree that a visual cue to which moon would definitely make the path easier to follow. For a jam I think this would have been a better way to go. Again really apricate it.
I didn't get at my first try that we could equip the jetpack and the rover by pressing the number key on the keyboard (or the cross left and right on the controller). It became much more logical.
Nice game with a well done ambience and and correct stick to the theme. Wandering on each planet or moon works very well, even with the steering rover.
The controls of the ship are Forsaken-like, it's easy to get upside down. Disturbing, but we're in space, aren't we ?
The collision share of the big planet is larger than the planet itself, this makes the character float above the ground.
Well done !
Thanks for giving the game a play! Apricate the feedback. There is an invert option in the menu for the flight controls. While the game plays well with keyboard and mouse, it might control 'easier' with a gamepad. I'm glad you figured out how to utilize the hot bar. I ran out of time to get any kind of prompts on how to use them.
I'm a bit stuck on what to do after repairing the ship. I flew to each moon and checked them out: one required a builder, which I don't know how to get. One had what seemed to be two points where you're intended to jump a chasm, but I couldn't manage to make the jump after many attempts. One looked like it led to a platform jumping puzzle, yet the landing area was in a small valley I couldn't get out of. And the last one looked like a time limited maze where using the shield is necessary. I had plenty of scrap, but whenever the shield ran out, after its first use, I'd instantly get teleported back to my ship with an 'Oof!' sort of sound. I couldn't find a way to maintain the shield by holding down Q or mashing Q when I knew the shield was soon going to deactivate. I even tried clinging to the side of the maze, hoping that would keep me off the deadly floor, to no avail.
If you can give me a bit of guidance on what I should be doing, or hints on how to do it, I'd like to see if I can experience more! :)
Thanks for playing and that is a very good read on the game. The first moon that you see when you launch is the "tutorial" moon. You will need to have at least 1 scrap to activate your shield. It should last for 4 seconds. Not letting the player know that the shield will use one scrap or requires one scrap to active is a design flaw on my end. Really apricate you playing and hope you give it another go. You can also collect scrap by shooting asteroids. Fly to first moon with at least 1 scrap. Use the shield to get through the hazard zone and talk to the stranded spark. The rest should fall in line....
I have been able to activate the shield; what I'm not sure how to do is navigate through the moon within four seconds. No matter how much scrap is in my inventory, the shield only works for that singular duration, and I'm teleported back to my ship before I can switch it on a second time.
You can't make it through the maze moon with the shield. You need to unlock the rover for that moon, same with the checkerboard moon, you need the jetpack. The builder moon you need to unlock the builder. The small moon that is directly in front of the ship when you launch from the planet is the moon you must do first. Use the shield to get through it, should take 2 seconds to walk to the next spark. You can see a shield hint in the screenshots on the page for the small moon. Each moon was supposed to be only solved with one type of tool.
Ahhh!
It took a lot of outside direction but I did it.
Woot!!! Nice, thanks for posting the screen shot!!!!
Flying around in space with the spaceship was really fun — I probably spent a bit more time on it than the game required. It was fun to play! Good job, good game ! =)
Awesome! I was getting worried that I had not made the ship controls as easy or as good as they should be. Sounds like it hit the mark for you. Really apricate you taking the time to play our game and leave some feedback.
This was a really ambitious jam project! The Mario Galaxy / Outer Wilds style of hopping between small planets and reconnecting the solar system was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed discovering new tools and mechanics along the way.
The controls took me a little while to get used to, but once everything clicked, exploring the different moons became very enjoyable. There’s a surprising amount of content here for a jam game 😄
Oh thanks your taking the time to play and leaving such a great review. I definitely over scoped but I just couldn't help myself. Really apricate it!
cool concept I like the colors
Thanks for giving it a go! Glad you liked the colors and concept.
Great job with your game! Impressive how much is in it. I found the controls a bit tough to come to grips with, but overall pretty good.
Apricate you taking the time to give it a go. Only my second game jam and need try for something less ambitions next time and really get more time to polish. In hindsight I should have set the ship's launching speed at something much lower and have the player use the thrust once they got use to it but, I don't know. It flies pretty good with a gamepad but I doubt there were many players playing with one. Many lessons learned from this jam, it's the best part of them I think. Again, thanks for playing and the feedback.
Really impressive scope for a jam, hopping between moons with different tools and objectives is genuinely ambitious for one person.
Unfortunately the camera movement gave me motion sickness and I wasn't able to finish it.
Lots of potential here though, with some polish on the camera and UX this could be a really fun experience!
Thanks for taking the time to play our game and leaving feedback. Had more than a few hours of lost sleep last week. Sorry to hear about the camera issues. Have only made one other WebGL build before and I think I got something off with the screen resolution maybe. If you read this were you playing in Fullscreen or just in the browser window? If I play the game in Fullscreen the camera is not great but in the smaller window it seems to run as intende.
This game has a lot going on. We'll done creating all this in such a short time.
Thanks for playing. I over scoped for sure on this one and paid for it in loss of sleep this last week.
There's so much you can do in this game, really impressive! I really like the choice of sound effects and music, and flying was quite smooth. I was a bit confused about which moon to go to though, but it was still a very fun experience. Really cool!
Woot! Thanks for playing Elaine. Apricate you taking the time and the feedback. I definitely could have used some visual cues for guiding players to the moons.
Interesting little game. The camera kept snapping around on me which made things a bit tough at times and definitely could use a navigation arrow or something to let me know which direction to fly in. BUT the flight mechanics etc were a lot of fun. Well done
Thanks for the feedback and playing the game. Not sure why the camera is acting strange. I have been trying to replicate it and I think it has something to do with playing in Fullscreen mode vs in the browser window. Which did you play the game in? This is my second webgl build and have not got it all figured out yet.
The different controls were exciting, however the looking around felt a bit nauseating. When i got through the maze with the jetpack the dialogue suggested i missed something and this should've been solved differently :)
Thanks for playing and also the feedback. I was wanting every planet to only be able to be solved by one tool and then make it a trial and error kind of thing. Don't think I nailed it in the time that we had allotted. Thinking about it now I should have made a visual cue for the player when they unlocked let's say the rover or the jetpack. The moon with that puzzle should have some sort of indicator to guide the player to that moon. Hindsight is always 20-20. Really apricate you playing and congrats on getting past the maze with the jetpack. I was trying to make it so you could only do it with the rover. You got jetpack skills!
This game has a surprisingly large scope, with planetary exploration and pretty in-depth flight mechanics. While a bit finicky, it's still impressive how much control I have when flying the spaceship. Pretty enjoyable game!
Apricate the feedback and taking the time to play the game. I definitely have a problem trying to scope game jam games. This was my second jam ever and I think I did a better job at it this time. Glad you enjoyed it. Was my first run at a spaceship controller and I was just happy to get an invert controls option in the game.
Cool game! Flying around in the ship was very fun. I did have an issue with the camera turning right on its own, but I had the same issue with someone else's Unity game, so it might be on my end. I'm on Firefox, which I hear has issues sometimes. Still had fun though. Great job!
Thanks for playing and the feedback. I'm not sure what could be causing the camera to turn on it's own? I did find that playing the game on the screen in the browser without going into full screen seemed to run much smoother. Will look into what can cause this for the next jam in case it's something I overlooked.
very nice game and solid mechanics. the controls are a bit hard to master, but apart from that an enjoyable submission!
GGs and good luck
Thanks for playing and the feedback. I might have gone a bit overboard on the action maps. I did try to put all the controls prompts on screen but might need a better UI panel for them. Apricate it! GG.
I'd appreciate you giving my game a try ;)
