Great use of the theme! Love the replayability with the star rating system. I was motivated to improve most of the levels to get better times. It's a small detail, but I like the transitions you do like stepping into the train from the main menu for the level select. I'm curious how you managed to force fullscreen with your webgl build. Fullscreen seems like the best way to play webgl games, so this seems like the ideal way to do things, I'll have to look into it.
Anyway, awesome submission! :)
Hey, glad you had fun and that the stars tempted you so ๐
I think for the Fullscreen I literally expored the Gosot app to be in Fullscreen by default, nothing more to it really.
I found it a bit surprising that I looked at the board, everything was fine, then I entered a train and got a message it is delayed.
Definitely a nice entry for the theme!
ah yes, incidents can appear at anytime (although only one level does this ๐)
Glad you had fun ๐
What a brilliant game, I love trains
Glad you had fun, I too like trains ๐
im no speed demon, i do enjoy figuring things out this was fun. ty gg
Glad you had fun, and glad it scratched that figuring things out itch ๐
Very smooth game! I was somewhat confused in the beginning since I eventually got to the destination, but I didn't realize you had to do it quickly to get a better rating :P Very unique gameplay!
I think that was my approach to a hook, once you finish one level, you learn that there is a rating system and your gamer brain goes "oh, it's on" ๐
lol you're not wrong xD
Quite fun, I have some speedrunner skills so it was great to play. Good job with that, it did felt like how we gotta transit in big cities XD
Glad you had fun, and yea it really does, I did have the idea of trains coming and going but didn't feel like that added to the gameplay and would instead just be fustrating ๐
You paced that game perfectly as a speed run challenge.
For moving trains. The intro or the opening scene or the ending scene would be enough!
The levels look largely the same with the exception of levels having different destination points the player needs to reach. I assume the connections theme is being applied with platform numbers to reach the destination. I mean it's a solid concept but maybe have more unique storylines to tell the player why they are going to "Old Ashton" or something.
I also like how the star system is implemented and its used to measure the player's time in the level. I managed to only get 1 star in the first 4 levels but 2 stars on the final level.
The camera sensitivity was way too low for me as well and I feel like I should be able to change it if it's going to take me precious seconds to reach a platform. The music is solid though.
Hey, yea the stations are largly the same, there are 2 versions, the second is a 2-train station used for the only 2 locations with 2 connections.
And yea, the idea of the theme is you are taking connecting trains to reach your destination.
I should have known I forgot something! My apologies on Camera sensitivity.
I could definitely see this turning into a very cozy, puzzle game. A bit barebones at the moment, but I really enjoyed my time.
Thanks so much, and yea 100% bare bones, majority of the time was spent on the code and nodes, as well as fixes to getting out of the map or general oddness ๐
Its built that it could have hundreds of more levels, and be made much bigger in map in the future.
cool concept and quite funny. I don't think it's a full game yet, as you don't really have to make any meaningful choices, but it could be a great backbone for a narrative game or a survival game of sorts.
Hey thanks, I had some stretch-goal ideas I was toying with but decided to not let the scope creep for sure ๐
I'm curious how survival could tie into this ๐ค?
I ment survival as a game of scarcity where you need to gather resources and you rely on the train to get around the world, but the train might fail you and you have to take the longer route, but risk nightfall etc.
Cool idea, thanks
Absolutely love this game! The concept is great! Easy to play but hard to get 3 stars in every level. I would love to see more from this game in the future! Also, the credit scene is super fun and creative. I'd say thats the best part of this game haha. Good job!
I am so glad at least one person saw the credits screen, I couldn't resist the approach I took ๐
As for the stars, that was totally the goal, easy to play, hard to get 3 โญ๏ธ on ๐
let me say this again.
I absolutely love the CREDIT SCREEN.
Damn I gotta say I really liked this game. The concept is sound and I can see how you can expend this. Speed runners would love this stuff. Great job! Nice little twist with the delay. I really really liked it. Great job! Should be proud of this one.
Speedrunners are exactly who I was thinking of, thanks!
