Looks interesting overall, though after finishing the tutorial I wasn’t really sure what I was supposed to do next πŸ˜…

I did like that basically every action in the game has some kind of sound effect though, that makes the whole thing feel a lot more alive.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! 😊 Fair point on the "what now?" moment after the tutorial - definitely something we want to fix with clearer goals.

And super happy the sound effects worked for you! We really wanted every action to feel responsive, so that's awesome to hear. πŸ™Œ

Not a bad game; it was interesting to figure things out and build my own settlement.πŸ™ƒ

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! 😊 Happy to hear the exploration and building loop worked for you - figuring things out and making your own settlement is exactly the vibe we wanted! πŸ™Œ

Cool one tho, really impressive for a jam game, loved the sounds

Submitted(+1)

It is really impressive for a jam game! A proper UI is an essential part of a city builder, and yours is quite sleek. The tutorial is clean and makes it easy to understand all the mechanics in one go. The upgrades also feel very satisfying. While some background music could be nice, it's definitely not a huge deal for a jam game.

With these strong foundations, adding more content, and especially some unique challenges, could easily turn this into a commercial game. Excellent job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a ton! 😊 Really glad the UI, tutorial, and upgrades felt good - and the "could turn into a commercial game" line genuinely made our day. πŸ’« Music incoming soon! πŸ™Œ

technically, this is very impressive given the 10 days limit. very well polished mechanics and UI, you guys really put the player experience first.
A few constructive crisitisms: it's a shame there is no background music. it would have elevated the gameplay x20. Also, the objectives are clear, but the progression isnt imho. I don't have a sense whether or not i'm going in the right direction (i have to click on each item to understand what's happening).
All in all, bravo for this work!
GGs !
(I'd appreciate it if you took a look at my submission ^^ )

Developer

Thanks a ton! 😊 Really happy the polish and player-first focus came through - that was our priority.

Fair points all around: the music is the #1 thing we hear and totally agree it would've boosted the gameplay. And the progression feedback is spot on - you shouldn't have to click each item to know if you're on track. Definitely improving that.

GGs, and I'll check out your submission for sure! πŸ™Œ

A very nice city builder! I liked the mechanics and the game loop. The skill tree was also well made. It did hurt a bit since there was no background music. I assume the game is over once you earn enough money or place enough megastructures? I stopped after placing 3. Great job overall!

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊 Happy you enjoyed the mechanics, loop, and skill tree - and fair point on the music, definitely adding it soon.

About the ending - yeah, there was actually a bug with the win condition. The game was supposed to end once you built the megastructure, but the victory screen never showed up. πŸ˜… So you'd already won! Patch incoming. Thanks again! πŸ™Œ

That's superb for the time available in the jam. Found it really relaxing to play. Would be nice to remove structures (not sure if that's possible sorry!). Well polished, good job.

Developer

Thanks a ton! 😊 Pulling this off with just two people was a wild ride - super happy it ended up feeling polished and responsive. Really appreciate the kind words! πŸ™Œ

Out of curiosity - which parts felt the most polished to you? Would love to know what stood out so we know where to keep pushing! πŸ˜„

Submitted(+1)

Super shocked you were able to pull this off in the time span with two people. Super fitting with the theme, the UI and game play were responsive and smooth and overall the game had a lot of polish.

Developer

Thanks a ton! 😊 Honestly, pulling this off with just two people was a wild ride — super happy it ended up feeling polished and responsive. Really appreciate the kind words! πŸ™Œ

Nice game, it reminds me a lot of powergrid, a German board game

Thank you so much! πŸ™Œ

Happy that I had enough funds to buy, and play around with it. I like the models, and I had already a lot of choice. I agree with the music aspect but well done!

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊 Glad you enjoyed experimenting with all the options - and happy to hear the models worked for you!

Fair point on the music - definitely adding a proper soundtrack soon. Thanks again! πŸ™Œ

Interesting game.  Good job

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊

Like an another commentator wrote , making a city builder is a lot mechanic to do in a week , so really good job on that! The game was enjoyable, didnt quit know what to do after putting the megastructure though.

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊 Yeah, fitting all the city builder systems into a week was a wild ride - glad it ended up fun!

Quick note about the megastructure - there was actually a bug with the win condition. The moment you built it, you'd already won — the game just didn't show it properly. πŸ˜… Fix incoming!

Submitted(+1)

Pretty cool, not really a city builder guy but that's just me. The game looks nice and the UI is very clean and easy to use. The only thing it needs is some music.

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊 Appreciate you trying it out even though it's not really your genre - super glad the look and UI worked for you!

And yeah, music is the obvious missing piece - definitely adding a proper soundtrack in the next version. Thanks again! πŸ™Œ

I haven't played a city builder game in a while now. I got a bit confused that giving 2 power sources to a building would cause issues (would be nice to have a warning about this before placing the second power source) and I found the UI (on web) a bit hard to read (text too small).

Nice prototype otherwise, as others have said it lacks a progression etc, but for a 1-week jam wow that's a lot of complexity already implemented. And placing buildings in kind of a sandbox mode is fun a bit already :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the thoughtful feedback! 😊 The dual power source thing is a great catch - a warning before placement would be way better than just silently breaking things. And yeah, the UI text size on web is fair, definitely something to fix.

Progression is next on the list. Thanks again!

City builders are confusing to me, but I appreciate the idea and the effort you put into the game. Some background music would've helped to create some atmosphere.

Developer

Thank you so much for giving it a try despite the genre not being your usual cup of tea - that really means a lot! πŸ™Œ

And you're absolutely right about the music - background music would've added so much atmosphere. It's one of those things that got cut due to time, but it's definitely a top priority for the next update. Appreciate the honest feedback! :)

As someone who likes city builders and has tried to make one before, I can appreciate the amount of work that went into this. Setting up a grid building system, buildings, detection, listeners, etc. are all really hard to keep track of so good work there. I agree with the other commenters that I just rushed all the buildings and wasn't sure what to do next.

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊 Hearing this from a fellow city builder dev hits different - you really get how much hidden complexity goes into making the simple stuff work. Glad the effort showed through!

And the feedback about rushing through buildings without clear next steps is totally fair - definitely something to fix with better pacing and goals. Appreciate it! πŸ™Œ

This was pretty fun i like city builders. The theme connection was very applicable. Aesthetics was fine. Music was non existent. Awesome mechanics.

Developer

Thank you so much! πŸ™Œ Really glad you enjoyed it - city builders are such a fun genre to work in. Happy to hear the theme connection landed and that the mechanics clicked for you!

I agree with iMRAN, I get that its a incremental but I would suggest having some sort of hook or reason for doing the incremental stuff, like for example  make it so you have to think about where to build as some areas can only support certain buildings :) Overall good work though :)

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! That’s actually a really good idea. I agree the game could use more strategic decision-making instead of just pure incremental progression. Having different areas support different buildings sounds super interesting and could make expansion feel much more meaningful.

I’ll definitely keep that in mind if I continue developing the game after the jam. Really appreciate you taking the time to play and leave detailed feedback :)

I’m going to check out your game now and leave some feedback as well!

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept, but it's missing something challenging. A game is no fun unless you have to think, and this game just has you push a few buttons and wait until you have $5000.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I actually agree that the game still needs more depth and meaningful decision-making. I want the game to become something where strategy matters, not just clicking buttons. Your comment honestly helps a lot because that’s exactly the direction I want to push it in.

Alright, best of luck then!
