pretty cool tower defense game, looks very polished.
Overall, this was stellar. It took me a second to really understand the linking between the nodes, and then towards the end I saw that it was on the cards. It was probably a "play before read" type of thing.
The same applied to navigating with WASD and rotating with Q and E. Once I figured that out, it helped me see how the nodes connect.
I always enjoy a good tower defense, and I liked your progression of going from one path to two paths, two gates, and so on. Nicely done. Keep up the great work. Cheers!
Really fun & balanced game! I don't normally play these kinds of games, but combining TD and deck builder makes it so engaging, I enjoy it thoroughly.
Excellent game, really well made and polished. Great theme and love the art. Well done!
Fun tower defense game. I played a bit until the 3rd portal opened.
It looks and handles well.
The difficulty is under tuned. Most waves didn’t make it very far
I don’t think I managed to make good use of the leaf nodes. I did not place too many as I did not want to sacrifice tiles.
The connection theme for a TD is really satisfying! I really really like how you made this with trees and roots because it just makes sense. You did a great job with the map and enemies and abilities. The card system was interesting to play and manage, I wonder how else it could be expanded. Great game
It was a fun game to play
The game isn't working for me. I get the unity loading screen, and then just a plain black screen. 🤷♂️
Everyone else seems to enjoy the game, so I guess it's just my old computer! 🤪
I think you need the latest Google chrome on a pc/laptop to make this work :(
nah, just tried with latest chrome and wouldn't work here. Am on Linux Desktop
This game is soo cool! I really like the connecting of towers and their boosts and making long strings of connected roots. Really great! I like that when you hover over a root it shows you all of the connections for that whole root, and the card system is very easy to use. Sometimes though I wasn't quite sure when a root was connected successfully as there would be roots near eachother but they didn't seem connected but I think it was getting boosts anyway? Not sure, but I really enjoyed the game and planning where to put my towers and boosts. The game did crash for me at around wave 21, but it was running well before that, the sound is good and overall, I really enjoyed playing this game. Nice!
This is really good game, well polished as well. As a tower defense Game dev myself I can understand the hardwork you put into it. Congratulations.
Fun game, Think I hit and ECS crash placing venerable roots into a system, couldn't get the log as the page locked up.
Like the connections aspect, art was nice, liked the cartoon Booms on enemies being destroyed. Rotate would have been nice. One issue I did note was that you can place through the UI as it doesnt catch the clicks.
Liked this one, well done
Lost a fair bit of time to this one! Fun and polished, a true actual game experience. You should be very proud! Interpretation of the theme is great too! Only thing that i would have improved on is something to do during waves, i found that i just let them run on max speed cos i couldn't place new trees or effect it anyway if i wanted. Maybe a couple of cooldown AOE's or Slows, or shield for the central tree. I dunno. Your game you choose. Would have made waves more engaging. Hope this does well, it deserves it!
Yeah I like this idea, I originally scoped cards that would do damage on tiles for just 1 wave or something temporary but I just didn't get time. Good recommendation thanks :)
I'm sure I could have done better, if I hadn't neglected to place any damaging towers on the very first wave. 🙃
A good use of the theme, I like the root connection idea. In practice I felt like prioritizing tower coverage was more important, but then I didn't get past wave 9 so I'm probably not an expert!
The visuals are nice, I especially like the effects when an enemy is hit/destroyed.
Good quality of life features, like rotating the camera and, especially, being able to increase the game speed.
It would be nice to be able to rotate every object, I found most of them didn't have the option and as a result I was surprised to discover some of them did. Since rotation appears to be an exception and not the rule, placing roots to make connections was fairly difficult for me, which is part of why I opted to focus towers over the underlying buff mechanic.
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed :) I was thinking about the rotation, I kind of like the non rotating as it makes it a log harder? You have to think about exactly where to place each item and sometimes you have to kind of 'make do' with the wrong pieces I think :)
Well I accidentally set my tree on fire lol. This was a lot of fun. It was interesting to play around with the different tower types and see what they could do.
I did find a bug, when I clicked restart after dying I got a memory out of bounds error from the browser
Very impressive! Good complexity, deep systems, and I love all the modification roots. I feel like there is something off about the cards at the bottom of the screen and hovering over them to reveal the descriptions, but at the same time it works fine so it's kind of a weird criticism lol. It might be because the text is so small and hugging the bottom of the screen, but I was still able to read it at the end of the day. Good game!
Wow, the amount of content and systems packed into this in just 10 days is seriously impressive.
Really liked the visual direction of the game, and using roots as the main connection mechanic was a very creative choice. The sound design also added a lot to the atmosphere, and overall the whole experience felt cohesive and thoughtfully made. Great work on this one!
Great tower defense game, and I'm instantly a fan of anything with a nature theme. Solid jam entry!
Wow, very cool game and on theme also. Surprised that this was made by only one person in 10 days but that's probably just me and my skill issue lol.
I hope I can build a game like this on my own someday.
Thanks :) I have been devving for 8 years including at AAA and indie :) Also I am familiar with Tower Defense :) Keep going!
Anyone else have trouble running this in Microsoft Edge?
Aah, its bleeding edge webgpu build for Unity so its probably not supported by everything right now I think :(
Any chance of a downloadable? I've had a few people recommend this one.
Humm, I have still been working on the game so I think the current version would be a bit of a nightmare to go back in source control as I have some changed assets etc that are local :(
all good mate
Well implemented game, I liked the art and the connections spin... well done :)
