I couldn’t play very much of this at all because of the first person perspective which makes me motion sick. But the short bit I did seemed nice! I thought one of the characters I saw seemed like Perry the Platypus, and the overall aesthetics and ambiance were nice and crunchy. It reminded me of old PSX styled visuals, which are nice to see outside of the horror genre.

I failed the case :’( it was hard to figure out how to play the game. i like the idea of scanning files and determining the suspect. I’m not entirely sure how do u decide who the cultprit is. secondly, on the web build, the mouse sensitivity is too low when moving around. good luck.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, it's not very clear, my bad. Also, I kept having issues with mouse movement in the web build, the camera would move on its own. I tried to fix it by filtering the input, but now it feels very slow. Next time, I'll test the web build much earlier. Thank you!

Ayyy nice game, quite the aesthetic you've got going.

I had zero idea what I was doing the first time I played and got nowhere.

Then I came here and read some of the explanations, and then realised I could hold down left mouse to scan the files. It was a long waiting game to wait for the correct evidence to pop up, but after like 10 minutes I managed to finish the game :D

So yeah players probably need more guidance on the basics of how the game works, but otherwise a cool experience!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, that's why developers need testers... I always lose sight of some details because I think they're obvious. Thank you for playing!

Definitely a cool vibe, but unfortunately I wasn't able to make progress.  Saw some sketch stuff, but I never seemed to find the right files.  Definitely an awesome start to a game, adding a bit of direction/feedback is probably all it would take!

Developer

Yeah, my bad. I always think it'll be interesting for players to figure things out on their own, but I end up making the concept unclear. I'll try to do better next time. Thank you

hmmm I can navigate around, .. I see the E and click and it takes me to the computer,.. but only for computers someone isn't at yet. it won't take me to a computer someone is already at.

The empty computers I do go to, are just blank screens.

im plying on WebGL (safari) is it just not handling it well on webGL, or am I doing somthing wrong?

Developer

Yeah, you only need to sit behind one specific computer - it's highlighted by the ceiling light. I planned to make the other PCs usable too, but only as simple computers without the police software. Basically, in this game you have to connect to other PCs after an NPC sits down at them, spy on their activity, and check their files with the "Cyber" software. Red files are important, but only the ones with the right theme/tags. So if you're looking for a hacker, the files should be related to things like "remote_control", "hacked_something", etc. After finding 3 out of 5 files like that, you can arrest the suspect.
You can also check who is currently downloading those files through the webcam. That's pretty much it. My original idea was much bigger and clearer, but this was only my second 3D game, so it was hard to finish everything properly. But you definitely can win, I do it all the time.

Developer

I don't know how it works on Safari, but I can imagine it's pretty bad. When I ported the game to the web, I ran into a thousand issues. I fixed a lot of them, but the game still feels awful in the browser, the diffecrent atmosphere, the weird audio balance, the lag, all of that is still there. So I wouldn't be surprised if something doesn't work at all on Safari.
For some reason, I decided not to make Linux or macOS builds this time. That was my mistake, sorry about that

Very cool vibe, but it's difficult to navigate the computer.  I feel like I'll randomly be kicked from a user or they disconnect for no reason plus I see files changing randomly.  By my own admission, this is not the kind of game I would play, but the atmosphere alone and weird bean characters did keep invested longer.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Files are added one by one, and the whole list is sorted by file extension. And you were disconnected from the computer because an NPC turned it off and moved to another one. My mistake, I made that part not very obvious

genuinely creepy atmosphere, bad parenting vibes all over- and i mean that in the best way. great work."

Developer

Yeah, I was hoping the vibe would be the main thing. Thanks!

Cyberpunk themed games using bean models is my jam :P Game looks great well done!

Developer

Thank you! Bean models made only from simple meshes in Godot, no blender at all

It took me a little bit to figure out how to connect to the computer until I finally noticed that little E show up. That could be bigger or put within a box to make it stand out more. It is also really dark and hard to see so it might benefit to add more lighting. Aside from those suggestions this is a great idea!

Developer

My mistake, next time I need to think more about clarity. Thanks for playing!

seems interesting. Don't really know how to play the game.

Developer (1 edit)

Haha, classic. I'm always making games like this, maybe I'll do manual "How to play" next time!

Basically, you need to find suspicious red files and inspect them. If the cyber police system says the file matches the suspect’s profile/theme, you’re getting closer.

Immediately check who owns that PC using the webcam feed, and keep an eye on that person. Keep checking more suspicious files from the same target to get a warrant and arrest them.
