Really cool game. Enjoyed it alot, it's abit hard at first but you get the hang of it. I know the efforts required to put in the upgrades, because I did some similar thing in my game. Welldone overall.
I still have not been able to complete it but this is an awesome game, 100%!. I would have wanted a dash... I am not sure if I have not find it yet. I guess the theme interpretation has to do with those pillars connecting the enemies, right? is the only thing related with the them. Other than that, I do not have any other thing to say. Good job.
Challenging game. I tried 3 times and I died 3 times at level 3 or 4. There are a lot of enemies ans the power-ups don't come quick enough to stand longer (I speak for me).
I'm using Firefox under Linux and I had zero issues. Games made with Godot are the ones working best for me (Unreal Engine being the worst).
I like the music you chose, really blending, not aggressive, not stressing, just active and inviting. The sound effects are monotonous but well chosen nonetheless.
I've seen you used AI for a lot of things in your game. Sure it speeds up the process and it helped you produce such a complete game in such a short time. It also depends on where you are (or you want to be) most comfortable with. I hope you'll rely less on these tools next time and produce more yourself.
J'ai bien aimé ton jeu. Merci.
Dayum. Good game. But stressful. At some point it got a bit laggy on my machine (web build).
But good job. you even went solo - wow!
This game is fantastic. Extremely impressive in such a short time. I don't usually play these types of games, but I found the gameplay loop very fun. The aesthetic is nice and simple, and the music fits well without being overbearing. Damage upgrades seem kinda pointless, as the enemies seem to scale much faster than the players damage anyway. It's hard to get close to enemies when the spiky ones are constantly charging at me, making me just run around in a circle until things just randomly die. The towers are fine but I think they have just a little too much health. Finally, the hitstop effect is too much. I've never been a fan of it in games, I can tolerate a frame or 2 per-hit, not per-enemy. Despite the issues, I think this game is amazing. I really hope this becomes a full game. Great job!
Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback. You make astute observations and I agree with all of them. I was a bit over-ambitious with this 10 day project and at one point I had to choose between balancing the game and visual polish and I chose visual polish. 🤣
Hey, fantastic job. Love the design, audio, gameplay, everything. You put in a lot of work in a short time, great job. Some hitches (I think you did it intentionally, but I'd get rid of them), and balancing, but easily enough corrected.
As an aside, I was not able to play it via the itch app, but was able to play via Safari. Glad I checked, great game.
The best game in the jam I have played so far. Gorgeous art and UI, great movement and animations. Big kudos to you!
Thanks for playing and for the compliments. Anything at all you found annoying, frustrating or otherwise took away from your experience?
Liked the low poly feel of it and the upgrade options, they felt a bit unbalanced. But over all very polished and fun.
Reached level 7! this was very fun, i love the attention to detail you put it. this is a challenging game ans is the only game so far that i played more than once XD
GGs and good luck!
(Would appreciate a look at my game too :) )
Thanks for the kind words. I’ll make sure to check it out.
This is rad, I love these kinds of games. Played it for a few runs, but the permanent upgrades from the hub are way too underwhelming. 5% attack boost even with the 10% isn't enough damage to make killing the enemies feel any better. The only upgrade that felt like it had real weight was the chain lightning but I didn't see it in subsequent runs. With some more balancing, this would easily steal hours of my life. Good job!
Hey! Thanks for playing and for your feedback. I agree with you. I ran out of time to properly balance several aspects of the game, the meta-upgrades are one of them. I’m collecting feedback during the rating period and if the feedback is good enough I might continue working on the game, so stay tuned. Cheers!
I thought this was a fun one! I had to laugh when it took me too many seconds at first to realize the attacking was automatic. The art is interesting and the gameplay had a real fun arcade rhythm to it that I can see be very addicting. Nice work!
n1 for me. I miss more info about what the connections do, and the towers etc. I'd add more buttons - e.g. run
I liked your loading screen it was on point. I really like your art style and this was alot of fun to play it reminds me of until you fall. Great game!
Reminds me of Achilles Survivors, and nice way to mix it up by using melee as the primary attack. Very well done for a 10 day jam!
I really liked the visual style 😄 The upgrade system between runs was also a great addition and made progression feel rewarding.
The enemy variety was nice, and the difficulty felt well balanced overall 👍
The only thing that didn’t fully work for me was the connection to the jam theme.
That is very polished. Good job :)
I think visually you've really nailed the look of this - it looks great. I liked the different skills and the variability this gave me in designing a custom build. I liked going with 3 x circling orbs (as far as I got, not sure if you could do more!) and lightning. It looks like you might be considering this for a broader release so it would be good to maybe get a bit more detail going on the enemies. I really appreciate the use of an array of sounds for your hover sounds - thats a really cool touch that sometimes goes unappreciated. Great job - I'm going to go play another round.
Thanks so much for playing and the feedback. Really appreciated. Agree with you about the enemies.
It's a pretty fun game and felt really polished, and the UI reminded me of Nier:Automata.
That was really fun. Took me a bit of time to realise that clicking didn't actually attack lol. I'm not sure why, but the sound of the little enemies dying was really satisfying. Well done!
Thanks so much for playing. And thanks for the feedback. You’re not the only one that didn’t immediately realize that the game has auto-attacking. I’ll have to make it more obvious. Open to ideas on how to communicate this better if you have any.
I think that you could introduce the the auto-battle before that actual enemies. For example, a mini-tutorial with a stationary enemy. The player will naturally be drawn to check out what it is, without trying to attack yet. After the player comes within range and the auto-attack activates, they'll figure out that they don't need to attack by themselves.
Very fun survivor game, I really like the minimalistic UI style. I think the hub is a bit too huge. After the first run, I wasn’t sure where to spend the shards, so I moved around the map looking for it, and I didn’t realize it was the small- object near the portal thing XD.
Thanks for playing and the feedback. Agreed about the Hub. I also need to make it more obvious that the grey stone tablet is an interactive object. Cheers!
