Enjoyed the game, looks like you accomplished a lot solo!  I liked the first person view and robots as well.

I played the web version and I try to go into games blind so figured out attack/parry right away.  Felt like I killed all the robots but couldn't open the door at the top of the stairs?  I probably missed something.  If I could change one thing, I would have added some quick sound effects or background music.

Overall great job!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! To unlock the door, you need to interact with the terminal in the room on the lower floor by pressing 'E'. I should have added indicators to let the player know the door was locked and that it could be unlocked at the terminal, but I was in a rush to submit the game at the last minute.

Thanks for explaining and all good - time pressure was hitting me hard too!

Nice game, I liked the fighting/strategy. You can either choose to fight the robots or avoid them. It was a bit frustrating though since you can't block or slice while moving. Sometimes the doors are in the middle of closing and you have to walk back and forth for it to open again. The background sometimes blends into each other. Perhaps different lighting would help? You can also get stuck on various geometry in the levels.

A little sfx would be nice, I like to use https://sfxr.me/ to make sfx quickly

Hey, thanks for playing and for the feedback and suggestions! I uploaded a new build that fixes the block and slash issue while moving. Yeah, the doors can be annoying sometimes. Maybe I should use a tween or adjust the position directly over time in the process function instead of using animations.

Nice job! Liked the exploration and loved returning bullets fired using the block mechanic. Some suggestions, I'd add texture/colour to the blocks, just so you can differentiate them,   Maybe add health bars to the enemies and a hit score so you know how close they are to death. Liked the puzzle element of needing 'the thing' (anti spoiler... :) ) to get through one section. Well done!

Thanks for checking out my game and the constructive feedback. For the block / parry mechanics I was playing star wars jedi fallen order at the time and was inspired by it.

As a fellow Godot developer who participated with a roguelike FPS, it’s thrilling to encounter a first-person melee game developed in the engine! I really liked the expansive level design and the Metroidvania aspects, such as finding boots for a double jump. The sword looks awesome, by the way!

The dodge mechanic and the breaking-down animations of the enemies are a neat touch. While the minimalist environmental set dressing is pleasing, some visual cues to differentiate locations would be nice to help with navigation. Adding sound would also be great, but it's definitely not a huge deal for a jam game. Excellent job!

Developer

Thanks for checking out my game and for the compliment! You are right, adding sound and music would be nice, but time was an issue. I might have overscoped a bit. There are a few things I had in mind but didn't get to implement, like the ability to heal, left-hand abilities, and boss fight. The level were also scaled back from what I originally planned.

The game could use some sound, but the parts that are done seemed to work fine. Could use some more work, but nice job nonetheless.

Thanks for playing and the feedback.

Fun consept. Loved the double jump upgrade. Would love to see you to keep working on it adding textures and, sounds and some music. Good job!

Developer

Yeah, lots of thing I didn't get to add because of the time constraint. But hey, thanks for playing and the compliments.

Yep, the web version suffers from the escaping mouse/cursor. I was somehow be able to play this game once with captured mouse on full screen. These kind of games with basic action are fun, just start and play without too much instructions

Thanks for checking out the game. The mouse issue has been fixed and the game is playable in the browser now.
