I love a good wooden train puzzle. This one was a little tricky, especially with the train going right away. At first, I thought I would have enough pieces to make the whole connection before the train started. There was a lot of clicking: letting the train go over a section, clicking on it, going back to its destination, and spawning it again.
It was fun, though. It would be great if you actually had to get the train to follow the path rather than just hitting the building at the end, and perhaps preventing tracks from being laid on top of each other. But those are minor things; it is a fun little puzzle game. Keep it up!
Thanks for having played.
The train starts as soon as you lay the first piece. This adds a little stress. Maybe the train goes a little fast ; my daughter struggled at the beginning but not very long, so I've let it this way for the experts out here. ;-)
The collisions are the biggest issue I had, and I couldn't find any satisfying solution. I'll definitely work on this for a future update.
Good and playful game. Really challenging at the start. Enjoyed the experience. Kudos to the music aded here. Really liked it.
Thanks for your comment.
Wholesome game with deceptively challenging gameplay. I really like having to work with a limited number of rail track pieces, plopping down new ones while reusing the old ones (it's very tactical!). I think it would be great it the play area has a grid view and the player can freely place down pieces in any order inside that grid. Other than that, it's a short but sweet game, left me wanting more levels actually. Great work!
Thanks for your comment. Happy you liked the concept.
The grid is an excellent idea ! It will definitely help to estimate how far we are from obstacles. I'll add this to my to-do list.
Looks very charming and has some nice details (for example the steam puffs).
Not as easy as one might think initially, and definitely needs to reuse some of the track pieces in order to connect both stations.
Nice!
Thanks for having played. Happy you liked this detail. :-)
It will get trickier when all collisions are implemented, don't worry. ;-P
Thought it was like one of those regular connecting pipe games at first but it changed when I realized you could reuse the tracks. Also props to your kids for designing the train and trees!!
Thanks a lot. I'm happy you found that reusing the tracks was interesting.
And thanks for your words concerning my kids' creations. :-)
Good idea and well implemented with a nice cozy feel. I didnt understand at first that I could reuse the train tracks, but then when I got it it was a lot of fun. Great job.
Thanks a lot for your comment and for having played.
I'll definitely make it clearer that the tracks can (and should) be taken back, and I'll do my best to fix these collisions. I tried hard, but I decided to let that for later.
A later that will come. Not soon but it will.
Great game. It took me a while to read that I can take back the elements... And then I missed the station.. I image it looked like int he picture on the right. Thanks for making it.
:-D :-D :-D
Oops ... Ladies and gentlemen, we arrived at our destination station a little higher than expected. Please watch your step when getting off the train.
I'm a little ashamed because the picture you chose was taken in my country ... More than a century ago, but still ...
I really need to work on these collisions. When they work, it will be impossible to place the last rail like you did.
It would also be great to be able to remove a piece that is still infront of the train, if the train has not entered it yet. If you misjudge the length you are stuck with it crashing.
I'll do this as well. I forbade it because of the way I detect the end of the track, I'll have to find another way.
Neverland, here we come!!! Choo Choo
This is a cool game. It's a great achievement. It brings back childhood memories. I think there's still a lot more potential to unlock here. Keep up the good work.
:-D
Thanks a lot for your kind comment ! That's encouraging.
This is quite nostalgic for me, and I liked it. Good execution, for both you and your kids!
Thanks a lot for your comment ! I appreciate.
The idea is solid. It was very fun to play. With polish and sound design and whatnot. I believe this could be a solid game. Your kids are very creative. Thank you for making this.
Thank you for your nice comment !
I'll look for better sound effects for the train for a future release, I found these ones at the last moment and I was already not happy with them.
I hope to involve my kids for the updates and maybe for future projects, it was fun !
I really like the idea, your kids did a great job :D The visuals give a very cozy feeling i can imagine playing more level with other difficulty levels and still feel comfortable. The concept of reusing placed tiles would be a nice to know before starting, i mean it is basically only natural to undo the little wood trails and there is a small bug it seems, if my train is driving into the house , not the trail (yes i placed them by chance flase) the screen says thats correct.
Well done was really nice to play
Danke für deinen Kommentar. ;-)
It's written in the introduction text in the game that the tiles can be placed back to stock and moved again to the mat. True that there's a loty of text on this screen, I should have been more visual.
As I said in the game's description, I had difficulties with collisions, this is why you could go through the station or trees. I'll solve this in a future version.
Thanks for playing.
Good job. Cool mechanics. I like the idea of having a limited set of rails that you can reuse once the train has passed over them.
Thank you, glad you liked it !
Nice little game.
I didn't understand you could reuse pieces (some of the picking up and placing was a big buggy for me anyway).
This does have lots of potential though so well done!
Thanks for your comment.
How buggy was it to pick up and place the rails, if you remember ? If there's something I can improve, I'll try.
Nicely done! I liked the rail mechanic and the models really brought the experience together. Good job to you and your family!
Thanks a lot for your nice comment !
