It's a quite enjoyable and positively bizarre experience! Interestingly, on my first run, I didn't realize I could use the keyboard, so I just moved using mouse-click 'rocket jumps' and successfully reached the end with my duck friends. Great job!

Developer

You're not the first one to report this! Maybe I should've added instructions to the game idk. Or maybe it's better to just use the shooting?

Well, it could be a specific mode in certain levels, a penalty, or just a mechanic for the early game.

That was a fun little game. The recoil felt fun!

It would be really cool to see obstacles that can kill you if you don't control your recoil or its direction!

Well done! There is so much you can do with this!:)

Nice game, little short, but core mechanic of connecting with other ducks worked well, very satisfying to see your firepower multiply up. Well done!

Short but fun. I didn't realize you can move with WSAD at first and just clicked the mouse to reach the goal. Then I played again with WASD and it became so much easier. I got curious and let all the other ducks died and head to the goal and it and I still win the game tho.

Developer

I didn't have time to do more. Probably should've made it have a counter at the end giving you a score based on how many ducks you saved and also let the player duck die

That squish! Ducks don't like tomatoes ?

So cute game!!!

Cute game with ducks. i like what you have done with connections theme here. I would have loved a background music though while playing and some levels. Overall great job though.

Short and sweet! also it is not that big of a deal but recognized the Godot Icon I assume it was a placeholder that you didnt have time to replace but iirc you have to credit the icon creator if you use the godot icon in the game.

Added to the submission details! Also I included the license link so I think that's enough if I understand correctly

Cute game!

Developer

thank you!

That’s a great game idea. I didn’t know that tomatoes are the natural enemies of ducks  ;-). You learn something new every day.

I think it’s very well executed and a top-notch achievement.

Developer

I didn’t know either until @happybloke pointed it out! How foolish I was to not realize earlier!

I can see the time issue played an important part in your game. The gameplay is pretty fun, the shooting is smooth and input feels very responsive. My only complain is that the game was very short, I wanted to play more levels in order to test it out more. It felt like I was still getting the feel of the mechanics and the game ended. Other than that great effort. Good luck on your future works.

Developer

I may end up making a more complete version in the future, thanks!

The concept is really cool! I can see this prototype becoming a quite an iteresting rogue-like with more content in form of some kind of ducks upgrading system and more types of enemies.

Overall, good prototype with even better potential!

Developer

Thank you for the ideas!

Game is pretty fun to play but quite short in my opinion. I like the concept and art-style is pretty cute. Also how was your experience working with godot ?

Developer (1 edit)

It was very nice working with Godot! Unity was cumbersome last time I used it (probably around 2022)

as a fellow duckie, I approve of this game. Reuniting with my flock while slaughtering evil tomatoes is such an inspired combination, also movement reminds me of that flying tank scene from the movie A-Team from 2010. Short but sweet, I had fun :)

I like the duck!!!!!!!!!

Developer

Best part of the game

ducks and tomatoes have always been natural enemies.

Submitted(+1)

The game is nice but why is there only one level? But nice sprite animation

Developer (1 edit)

I started 5 days late in the jam and ran out of time :(

Submitted(+1)

Why are ducks being attacked by tomatoes? I don't know cause it doesn't matter haha. Too bad there is only one level but if you end up making more levels and challenge requiring all of the ducks it would definitely be worth coming back to. Nice sprites

Developer

I might update the game after the jam depending on if I have the motivation for it!

Congrats on the submission! I like the duck connection mechanic, building an army of ducks and firing tons of projectiles is really satisfying. The duck and its animations are very cute!
