Cute and enjoyable! Did make me stop and think in the later levels. Good job!
Thanks for playing! :)
This was really good. I wasn’t sure about the red-herrings at first, since I try to avoid them in my puzzles. I think it worked great here, since it wasn’t like a single red-herring, but rather a bigger decision making problem. And the overall charm and polish was super good. The palette changing, the animation on reaching the picnic, the fact that your bridges show up during the animation, that you could swap characters, even just that the level buttons showed the level layout (oh and butterflies 🦋). Some of these I’ve considered doing before but haven’t worked up to actually do them, and here they are, all working splendidly. I would’ve missed an undo, but that’s about it for what I can say. Great job, and good to see you again after a few years~
One of my biggest fears was that the red-herring islands, especially ones with pickups on them, would confuse and frustrate the player. When my artist first playtested it, he asked "Why can't I collect ALL the pickups?" So, it's a big relief that you said it works here!
An undo feature would have been smart. After playing some other Sokoban-likes from this jam (like yours) I realized how nice a feature it is. I will have to figure it out for next time.
Really appreciate the feedback! :)
Cute and fun! Very aesthetically pleasing, I really like the level preview. Nice endorphin rush as you discover and puzzle through solutions
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing! :)
Super great! I didn't even realize their were little butterfly collectibles for each level until after I beat all 6 levels so I went back and did em all again to get em. My only disappointment was that there was no secret ending or unlockable for collecting them, but it's still a complete game in my opinion. Definitely a little "attaboy" for collecting them at the end would go such a long way. Great job! Attaboy!
Definitely would have been smart to add a reward for collecting them all. They were a sort of last-minute idea that didn't get super fleshed out. Appreciate the feedback, and thanks for playing till the end! :)
Very cute game ! I liked the added objective of collecting the butterflies, and the option to switch between graphic themes is very cool too.
Thanks for the kind words! :)
really cute puzzle game, simple but quite challenging in the later levels. character designs are suuper cute too! enjoyed my time with this :3
Thanks for playing! :)
This is great! I hope you make more levels for it.
Thanks!
This was absolutely ADORABLE! As soon as I read “Neko” I hoped I would be in for a good and cutesy time and you delivered that perfectly. Loved the little bridging mechanic, and the animations honestly just make me happy. I’d play more of this for sure!
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing :)
Really really enjoyed this game. I have no notes except thanks for the game. I completed all levels with all butterflies. The happiness at the end made me feel like I had a civic responsibility to unite the two. I would definitely play more levels. I like the art and the sounds it was very cozy
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing :)
Pretty similar to my game. :) Pretty fun and I could see this getting challenging in big levels. Good job.
Thanks for playing!
So there’s this story about a woman contacting Candy Crush creators because she finished all the levels and wanted more… it is like 10k levels and nobody expected anyone to finish them, so they told her to find a different game… (I’m not making this up, there are memes about this historical event)
So, I’d play 10k levels of your game. You need to make this game a full release, don’t leave it just as a jam game.
I got stuck on level 4 for a while, but it felt rewarding to figure it out eventually. Superb entry!!
I didn't know that about Candy Crush, that's amazing! I had to look it up and there are so many funny memes.
Thank you for the kind words, and for playing all the way to the end! We really appreciate it :)
Haha, yeah, it’s quite old real life anecdote.. You’re welcome! And thank you as well for making such a nice game, it is an inspiration <3
I like how you can change the color of the terrain, and how you can swap the character. I actually didn’t even notice those features until after I had completed all the puzzles because I was so focused on solving them, which says a lot about how engaging the puzzles are.
That said, I can also see how difficult it is to add more variety and challenge to the levels without further increasing the map size. Very well done!
Thank you so much for completing it and exploring all the features! :)
Really loved this game, the level design is fantastic! I also like the art style and the music very much, everything blends together really well.
It is really polished, I like the fact that you can choose your character and swap the tile colours. Also, I didn't get it on my first try that the butterflies are collectibles, but it wasn't a bad surprise, it made for a fun second run ^^
Frankly, the only thing I regret is that there aren't more levels, because it was just so much fun (and like, it's impressive to make that many levels during a game jam in the first place!)
Thank you so much! We ran out of time to do anything special for collecting the butterflies, so we left them in as a secret without ever explaining them to the player. I'm so glad to hear people discovered them and enjoyed collecting them :)
Really cute! Loved that I could swap the tiles. Cool puzzle game. Kudos.
Thanks! :)
Definitely one of my favourites in this jam! So polished, and the whole presentation works so well together. Love the little details like characters and colour switching. Amazing work.
Thank you so much!
this is one of the best games I have played in this jam, the art and animations are insanely good, the gameplay is so much fun and the theme is there, again one of the best games I have played in this jam, good game!
That is very high praise, thank you so much! :)
What a fantastic game! 😄 It gave me strong old-school Nintendo vibes, from the gameplay to the overall charm and presentation. Everything feels polished, fun, and full of personality.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful project — I had a great time playing it!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Wow! Love this game. I'm not huge on puzzlers but I found this one to be a goldilocks for me. Simple to pick up, with some level of difficulty in the later sections without ever overcomplicating anything. Great choices for the art and the music, too! The rabbit-cat pairing reminded me of that old SamBakZa flash animation "There She Is!" though with a much more agreeable relationship. I finished all the levels and then went back for the bonus items. Also neat how you can switch colors or protags. Big fan of this one, thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much! I've never designed puzzles before, so I was pretty worried about the balance. Hearing your experience is very encouraging, and I really appreciate you spending the time to complete it.
I'm not familiar with the animation, I might have to check it out. :)
Great game but I got stuck on level 4 😭
Very cute graphics and music. The bridging mechanics is a fun puzzle mechanics. The color palatte changing is also a very nice touch.
Overall a great game and I'm dumb 🥺
Level 4 is one of the hardest, they should have been ordered differently, so don't feel bad! It's a huge difficulty spike.
Thank you for the kind words!
Nice little game. Nice art and music. The difficulty level really ramped up at level 4.
The cell movement was really annoying, but otherwise a solid little puzzle game.
The movement definitely could have used some tweaking. I've learned a lot to consider in my next projects. Thanks for your feedback! :)
