I enjoyed the story telling and it gave me 7 samurai vibes. I wondered if the Kitsune was going to play a larger role during the battle but it didn't appear again. The artwork was great though I really think the game would benefit greatly from music and sfx. I was curious whether the stat increases depended on dialogue choices or were automatic as the story progressed and whether the stats revealed additional dialogue options or played a role during battle. I enjoyed the different approaches but think it would be nice if the player had a say in how to come up with how they would defend the village. I took a more calm and steady approach and waited to see how scenes would unfold. Something I noticed was the scene of the dead villagers were already present before the battle had begun so it would be nice if that was delayed until after the first wave. All in all it was a cool experience and best of luck!

Hi, thanks for the input and yes, mostof these issues have already been patched out. I'm just waiting for the NDA 26 results to be declared and I'll update the VN. I was asked to not update the project before that. Yes, the VN will include SFX and stat based choice options. I am also devving Musha Shugyo as a 2d side scroller with Nioh/Sekiro-like combat and narrative choice based progression. Stick around if you like the concept.

I like the storyline you've created and am interested in the world/lore. I unfortunately got stopped by the error message others have pointed out but I enjoyed the storyline up till what I assume is the end of the battle. The stats like instinct and agility felt confusing as I'm not sure what they do/their purpose. The character designs are neat though and I would love to see this game get more fleshed out. Happy I got to play this game and I hope you continue your work whether its on this game or another.

Hi thanks for your encouraging words. Yes, I plan to make this game into a 2d pixel art side scroller beatemup with Nioh/Sekiro-like combat with narrative decision based game progression as you saw here. I will update the story soon as the NDA results are out and the game demo should be out by next month's start. Stay around if this sounds like your thing.

I like the art style; it’s easy on the eyes and doesn’t distract too much from the text, but it really enhances the story. If there are audio files included, I’m afraid I didn’t hear anything :( If not, it would be nice if some appropriate background music were added in the future. I think Kimochi is well done, but unfortunately there was a “placeholder crash” at the end of one path [FESTIVAL_STUB — Author’s prose to be added here.]

Hi, thanks for trying the game. Yes, I have made music for it but couldn't get it running before the jam deadline. I will be updating it immediately after the jam is done. Stay tuned.

I tried to play the game with Firefox and Chrome, on Windows and Ubuntu... Finally I opened the web console and saw this error:

"./main: can't open file '//main.py': [Errno 44] No such file or directory" <== the two forward slashes ("//") at the beginning mean that the path is not set up correctly.

Ah, it's sad that there are technical issues.

I'm curious to play this game - please update after the jam.

Good luck!

Hi, thanks for trying to run it. I couldn't update the whole thing before the jam closed. Will update you once the game is complete. Should be right after the jam decisions are announced.
