woooo that last level is a doozy. I can honestly say I enjoyed this game the more I played it. I especially like how the slimes noticeably weigh the player down too, so you there is a trade-off to just trying to horde them. It was interesting to stash them strategically, or use them to kill enemies. And I find it gracious that you gave the player a ledge grab on top of it all too. Nice little jam experience!

This was a really polished and enjoyable experience!

The slime mechanic is incredibly creative and gives the platforming a unique identity. I especially liked how the slimes can be used in different ways, creating interesting decisions throughout the levels.

The whole game feels well put together, and it's easy to see the amount of care that went into both the mechanics and the level design.

Great work, and congratulations on the submission!

Fun puzzle platformer with a unique mechanic. Don't think I've ever seen the absorb/eject mechanic like this before, could potentially expand into a full game with different slime types giving different abilities and such :)

I am here for the love of the slimes but I keep losing them in the walls or floors, please save the little blue dudes. Pretty fun, good start!

I definitely had a smile on my face the entire time, jump-pooping slime balls. So well done in my book!

I thought the consecutive jump mechanic was great where it would expel a slime, requiring you to find more slimes for more jumps. Nice work!

Nice platformer! I like the idea the slime serves multiples functions: jumping, firing, and health. Solid entry, well done!

This was a fun puzzle platformer. I imagined the player was in fact a bunch of slimes in a suit. I did not need to shoot mechanic but the jump mechanic with the slimes was really neat. I liked  the little touches like the character growing slightly with every slime and losing jump height the larger you grew. This would be fun with multiple kinds of slimes.

Cute platformer with interesting take on life :)

in the third  or fourth level, I managed to expell my slime blob through the ground and then I didn't have enough power to jump. Is there a kill me or restart level option?

Developer

Best way to restart is to get killed for now :P. However, there is a trick to have enough jump power by gathering and throwing slimes on  upper level platforms and then get boost from those slimes. I learnt that the hard way on level 5 when someone I was playtesting here was stuck in the similar manner. Glad you liked the game.

Heyy This was pretty fun!  That last level was a real marathon to get through but I really liked it!  Juggling the slimes felt pretty good.  Great job!

Developer

Glad you liked the game. Thanks for your feedback :)

This one was a lot of fun!. The growing and double-jump mechanics were very cool. 😎
I am usually pretty bad at platformers but I managed to clear all the levels. That final level was really long!

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it. Thanks for the feedback too. Last level was made in the last hour of the game jam, and I really wanted to test the players and see what all could be achieved with these limited mechanics. Glad you completed all levels. Thanks for the feedback :)

very interesting implementation of resource management, using the slime as either for traversal or offensive tool. I just wish there's a checkpoint for each level, because currently dying 3 times will just boot you back to the very start of the game. Overall, it's an enjoyable game :)

Developer

Thanks for your feedback. Will try to add checkpoints in the next build. Glad you liked the game :)

Fun platformer and it was nice to do doublejumps and ration slime. I found it annoying to have to restart the game from the beginning so many times, but that's a skill issue on my part (I didn't end up finishing the game)

Developer

Hehe, not really. Better to restart from a checkpoint, or restart the level itself. Thanks for your feedback :)

Very unique platformer! It really stands out from the crowd. The core mechanic is so good, and I feel like it has a lot more potential to show and build upon. The game loop is fun, and I found myself wanting to see more ideas and tricks built around this amazing mechanic.

That said, I felt the game was a bit too easy. I'd love to see more challenging situations that push the mechanic further and make the player think in new ways.

The visuals also felt a bit inconsistent. Some assets seemed to use different styles and resolutions, which made the overall visual identity feel less cohesive. The background music didn't really match the vibe of the game either.

All in all, great work!

Developer

Thanks for pointing this out. And yes these are free assets and not really thought in depth. I was more focused on the mechanics than the assets. I will try and do better. Glad you liked the game and thanks for this detailed feedback. Absolutely loved it.

You pushed the mechanics to its absolute potential through the levels. Good job!

Developer

Thanks. Glad you liked it.

This was a really fun platformer to play, the mechanic behind absorbing the slimes and using them the way you do is very original to me. The only suggestion mechanic wise I think to give is a bit more intuitive control with jump being the up button instead of the space bar seeing as how the player doesn't use this key to move around. Otherwise great job on this game.

Developer

Thankyou for this amazing suggestion and will definetely take this up. Glad you liked the game :)

I liked the design of the platformer. Good development of the mechanics which worked smoothly and the slime gives the game a unique touch. Congrats on the game!

Developer

Glad you liked my game.

I like the core concept and the mechanics. I really think this game would benifit from a timer (Stopwatch or countdown depending on the mode) as I liked it more when I treated it as a Sonic game. Sometimes the slime felt redundant as you jump higher without it, while somewhat defeats the purpose unless the level design takes advantage of the mechanic, such as horizontal gaps or defeating enemies. Also, I would like to see how many slimes I have at a glance. This is a great concept. Good job!

Thankyou for your feedback and glad you liked the game. WIll definitely consider your feedback for the subsequent build.

The gameplay mechanics are enjoyable and well integrated into the level design.

I love how the collected slime affects the character's speed and jump height.

Very fun to play.

Developer

Glad you liked the game :)

A very enjoyable platformer! I really like how intuitive  and easy to grasp it is to use the slimes to jump and attack.

One improvement could be to show some sort of slime counter, it is sometimes quite hard to keep track of how many you siphoned, especially in levels where there are so many (like the last level).

Also I didn't immediatly understand when I was sent back to the first level after losing my three lives, maybe adding a sound effect or an animation could make that clearer.

You can feel the care that went into the level design, and I had a lot of fun clearing them all.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback. I got too indulged in the mechanics of things that didn't had time to do a lot of necessary things. Glad you liked the game though.
