Cool submission! A pretty competent little RTS for the weekend, and it had some strategy to it. I liked the little worldbuilding segment, story is always fun for small games like this :)
Bones being tied to troop death made them a little too scarce I think, and led to a lot of snowballing. I'm not super familiar with the RTS genre, but I was able to strategize around that and found the best plan was to patiently wait and then deploy a whole fleet of troops at once. Maybe some way to farm bones reliably outside of 1-on-1 combat with the enemy? I think thats what the respawning 'wild' enemies may be for!
Thank you!
The bones Loop was a hard one too keep in a state of intended play and not be frustratingly few and far between. settled on a passive accrual of them for each T2 or T3 territory the player has which helped alot but not in the early game. That was the scattering of skeletons on the ground though admittedly less than my artist said we needed '>.<
El rendimiento del juego se ve bastante mal, el juego me va saltos, incluso se cerro
:(
I am sorry that has been your experience! What are your local specs if I may ask? Trying to figure what may be causing the issue and it could be an architecture one.
It has a 12th generation processor with integrated graphics, 32GB of RAM…

The only real issues I had with the game were how fast the tutorials fly by—I could barely read more than a tiny bit of the text—and wishing I could mass-summon units when I had extra bones or milk instead of having to slowly click one by one.
Other than that, the game is pretty easy to pick up and gradually master. It reminded me a lot of those custom maps I used to play on Warcraft 3 online, like “Footman Frenzy.”
Overall, it’s a super fun game! Is a sequel in the works? And what was up with that ending cliffhanger?! I also wasn’t expecting it to be so atmospheric—the music is great, the rainy environment looks amazing, and the 3D animations are really well done.
Sound designer and music composer here. We really enjoyed the aesthetic and atmosphere we were able to capture here. The idea was floated that we revisit this to make it a fully fleshed out game in the future. I would personally love to keep working on it. Multiple levels and a more in-depth lore to build on.
That response to the ending crawl was the exact same one my team had when they first read what I wrote and I LOVE IT.
"What begins to awaken Req" - "The sequel, obviously" :P
We had so much fun on this project and I could see fleshing it out into a proper title! Very glad you enjoyed it and picked up what we were putting down!
As for the tutorial. Hear ya loud and clear on that. Our initial design had those Dialogue windows popping up as the player encountered things for the first time to teach you along the way. Giving you time to connect the action with the information. But time and scope being what it is... I had to do a tutorial sprint just to make sure people were armed with info to do anything at all.
No reviews yet, so I'll be the first! I think overall a really good entry! It feels very similar to like starcraft and league mixed together. Feels solid to play, and I had a good time w/ no major bugs or complaints. My only two comments would be the UI was a bit difficult, I would appreciate a bit more on the HUD, but we had a really tight timeline for the type of game you were going for so I get it. Overall what I did get was very nice QOL. Also it is common to see downloadable games get very few ratings, and with yours being almost a gb that is a tough sell. In the future I would recommend a web build, so more people can experience your game! Congrats on the submission and hope to see you around again!
Thank you very much! Froze when we saw the special object combined with theme but really poured ourselves into it once we got momentum!
There was a hang for my web build and I devoted 2 and a half hours of time trying to get it to build out for web (no errors just the progress bar that never ends) and I had to scrap it in light of doing a bugs fix pass (while I was waiting for the web build I was play testing the exe build and came across alot of low hanging fruit that I could fix in a 1.0.1 pass but wouldnt have the time to do both web build and an 0.1 pass so... decisions were made. I hope not poor ones o.o
It was def an interesting combo lol. I like the world lore and theming you guys did for it. Felt very eldritch and like the world lore could easily be expanded upon into a larger project. And I totally understand, same happened to me due to time crunch. You’ll notice only one of the upgrades in my game had an image 🤣 I think you did good, and if you end up getting that web version uploaded all the better!
Got the Web build working (just had bad cache for web platform on my side) it is just past the 200mb data asset limit that itch.io has so cest la vie. We live in the land of the low rated but I do hope anyone who takes the time to download thoroughly enjoys it!
Nice! Don't worry, itch has systems in place for games w/ a low quantity of ratings. Shouldn't affect your placement much. (plus personal opinion placement doesn't matter, these are for the fun of it and learning!)
Not so worried about placement just have that game designer desire to have a creative work enjoyed >.<
