5 Days Left! FINAL STRETCH TIME-
(Hello~ new to this forum, my name is dorktrain. I've developed in javascript and love2d, very small stuff. I'm looking to pick up godot for next jam)
I finally got my game through a round of bugfixes that I feel good about- there are some minor bugs, however I am going to unplug from the grind for a few days before I marathon through the submissions.
Learned alot through this process-
Looking forward to see what others submit!

Woohoo! Yeah taking breaks is important. Grinding away can actually make you less productive in my experience. A well rested brain is a better working brain! Keep it up! Cant wait to see what you and everyone else comes up with!!

2x submissions until now, I think it's low compared to the prizes. Maybe all of yo will submit at the last minutes lol

Submitted

Yeah, usually big jams like these come down to the wire so tons of submissions wont flood in until the very last minutes. Haha. I'll probably be one of those myself. Haha

Submitted(+1)

Yah I did it in previous jams too lol. But the guy who won 1st place in the latest jam told me that its better to upload the game when me had done some core func and then update the games until the jam ends. So this jam I decide to do so and found that it makes me not to feel rush

Submitted

Nice! I may have to try that myself next jam!

Our teams game is called Fishy Business! were currently trying to scramble near the end to get everything done but the game is a business management simulator where you run a seafood retaught, manage stocks, and even scrap DNA to upgrade the skill tree, all done by catching and using fish!

Amazing!!! Super fun idea! Cant wait to check it out!!!

I literally started like 2 days ago but here's a screenshot of my game:  Cash Cow.
It's a game where you shoot your money at bubbles to pop them, and manage your budget to buy Power-ups that grant more money in the forms of stocks, bonds, CDs, and Loans.  It's also online multiplayer.

This looks amazing so far!!! I love the low poly vibe! :D

alright! 16 hours and ive only got about 11 (or more if I have time) coupons to make. Then its just a bit of balancing. The rest of the game is completely done though which is nice! Even already got an intro cutscene and the tutorials in!

Uploaded the final version of the game. I wanted to put a lot more features but it's already the middle of the night and I'm exhausted. Only a few hours left till the game jam is over ugh.

congrats everyone on your releases!

I checked the count before I went to bed with 3 hours and it shot up from 97 to 140 xD

Hope those that have been on the grind get some sleep and rest easy!

Submitted

haha, yeah usually jams are very last minute affairs. haha. I'm actually surprised its only 140ish entries! I guess the US only thing limited the number of folks who ended up actually participating.

Submitted

Where is the devlog?

Submitted

Hey! Here! Its pretty much just all of the edits from this post. Haha

A little late to post, so I guess this is more like a reflection rather than a progress report, but I wanted to share anyway!

I wanted to try making a card game, and had the idea to have the cards represent your possessions like assets. My specialty is system programming, not design, so I'm not sure the style lands exactly how I wanted(All the art is basically either HTML or SVG files, besides the opening manga which took me ages to draw), but I'm overall happy about how it turned out!

This is the longest game jam I've entered(though I've participated in a few shorter ones), and it's quite different, I found. Usually for the short ones I just go full speed ahead, but I found for this longer one it was way better to pace myself and create a planning doc to stay on schedule.

I'd appreciate any feedback!

Well, this is more like a reflection. I worked so much on my game! from the art to the coding. Did it all! It is my first jam and really enjoyed it. I just crashed work for 14 hours yesterday and was able to submit it the last 3 minutes before it closed! Will take it easy for a few days before thinking of my next game jam or next game idea. Good luck to everyone. I am impressed by some of these art! play my game Orbo and others at https://chris-devs.itch.io/orbo
