You're right, though - as a developer myself - I'd give PerfectFox265 some time to cook. Developing passion projects under pressure is usually counter-productive.

Regarding this post: Nobody besides the dev knows the current state of affairs. Creating a new post won't garner new information unless the dev provides us with it. I'd follow-up on the previous post on the matter because this isn't a new topic and, is most likely not conducive towards the next release date.
Edit: I'm not defending the dev; I'm just playing the devil's advocate, as a fellow developer. In their shoes, I'd prefer keeping to myself until I release the next patch...maybe I'd provide a quick update but I'd keep it minimal.
I will release Hotscreen 0.9 this week. It's mainly a 2x performance boost, quality of life features and bug fixes. In fact, it is ready but I will look at bugs reports that I can fix and test the build before posting it.

Ultimately, I was afraid of disappointing you. So I didn't want to look at the messages in case someone complained. But I don't deserve you guys, I'm working on this for 1 year and I never got a single angry message. You are the best. 😭
One last thing, because this post seems "sad" : I'm happy. I just pushed me a bit too hard. I hope you will still enjoy the next updates !
Thank you for the response i just wanted to know if Hotscreen wasn't abandoned cause i really like the app and don't like the other apps that other creators have made. your app is the best out of all of them because i tried the clones and they just don't hit right with me. Anyways just know that im excited for the next update and new features that are coming and have a great day.
Not to be that person but hotscreen IS the best one. The modding for it simply ties everything together perfectly. There honestly isn't much you can add outside what you're up to. People want vr support...or someone else can mod it. New filters...or just mod it. New games...no wait you can mod that too! You've opened up such a massive door NOBODY else is doing. So focusing on performance is all we really want to ask from you.

So happy to see this! 😃 Thanks so much for all your incredible work PerfectFox265! As a fellow developer, I know how stressful projects like this can be. A lot of the low-hanging fruit in HotScreen has been implemented/fine-tuned, so future improvements will naturally take more time and investment. I think most people are just grateful for an update, even if it's just to say there's not enough new to warrant a fresh release. And I'm super excited even for performance and QoL improvements! 🎉
Don't let the clones and similar apps get to you, there's nothing with the feature set of HotScreen that I've seen so far. And I recommend this app to literally everyone I can 😋
