BTW, as per the rules of the Jam, I'll not add the new Blocks yet, I'll wait until the rating time is over, then add the new block types.
this would be a lot more fun if you couldn't get soft locked or trapped in a block. I did like it and think its pretty close but just a few rough edges to fix.
Its really awesome idea with rotating map on Q/E. Really cute and simple visuals, id love that. I think its nicely done job, maybe it will be better with some ambient on background, and as i mentioned ESC better to change on R for restart or another, because in browser it always close window from fullscreen. Good job on this project, congrats.
I will be glad if you check my game too and give some feedback.
I like it! the player animations and the audio.
really cool concept as well.
I feel like maybe bind another key to reset. ESC just minimized my screen. and my player got stuck in blocks a lot, idk if maybe that's by design? like "you messed up try again"
Fez's perspective shifting mechanic but as a Sokoban is something I'm *amazed* I've never seen before, insanely cool concept!! My one criticism is I feel like the level design lead to a lot of deadlocks, just being stuck in a block with no way out, but that's an.. "easy" fix with an undo button. Really liked this one, great work!
"being stuck in a block with no way out", that's a bug actually, you are supposed to be able to just turn back from the stuck state even if you are technically mid air.
That and various other miscellaneous issues are fixed in the current patch I'm working on.
And just to be sure, I also added various "tutorial" type levels, many people got stuck at the level where you had to position yourself beneath a platform, spin, then climb a ladder to get higher, then spin back.
Also made a proper level editor lol
Oh fantastic!! Looking forward to checking those new levels out, you've def got something here
I was massively surprised to learn the levels were constructed in Minecraft of all things from another post, that level editor looks very handy and is definitely the correct call but I will miss that insane trivia fact about this lmao
Well, with Jams you kind of have to freestyle a lot of things,
At least now I know it's worth it to further expand on the concept.
Very cool concept! I always loved this kind of game ideas, kinda reminds me of Captain Toad. Very cool! Good work!
Great game, looks awesome and plays awesome. I only had a bit of trouble on a few levels, but other than that i really like it!
probably the only game ill give full 5 stars, i think the only thing that could have some slight improvement is the level design. also for the browser version, having restart on something like R could be better, since if youre on fullscreen, pressing escape minimizes. overall this is my favorite submission, great concept, presentation, use of limitation, and enjoyable, not much else to say
I'll 100% change the reset input with tomorrow's 2nd Level Update pack.
I wish I could play more levels
I'll add more levels over the next week.
Right now, I added a couple, tomorrow comes the 2nd update pack with more levels and some bug fixes.
Can't wait till you have slept so we can get more of this masterpiece
Good news, I made a tool that lets me make maps in Minecraft and export them to my game's data format.
Still, I'll add a couple of levels each day, if I add too many at once, I can't really make sure if they are fun or just frustrating.
wow that's so creative, if you need playtesting, hit me up!
It's just quicker to use Minecraft and write a little Python script that converts everything correctly.
than to make a fully functional level editor lol
Anyway, I'll make all play tests public for now, so I'll add new levels every day/2nd day.
What a FEZ sokoban!!Great job on the implementation! Way too short though, please make another 1000 levels!! :D
Yk, with the new levels ive added, I've been asking myself, are you guys interested in having access to a level editor for the game?
a lot of though was put into this, good job, dont forget us when you reach the top
Yk what they say, you won't forget your first love, nor will you forget the first players.
Never played Fez but always wanted to. Can't wait for more levels!
FEZ IMO is more of a platformer with ARG-type puzzles and less of a traditional puzzle game.
I think I should say this here too,
I'll add more Puzzles after sleep
