played about 30 min wha this is a long game! kept me hooked!
This game is awesome! The only thing that bothered me was the tools. Switching between them can feel a bit tedious at times.
I also think it would be really cool if the spoon and fork had more unique mechanics instead of mainly being used to find pedals. For example, the fork could pop bubbles and create a force that helps you navigate through the level.
Congratulations on making a game with this much content in such a short amount of time!
Thanks for playing! I can see how switching between tools can get tedious, I tried reducing the amount of friction for that as much as possible, but clearly still some tweaks we could make. For the tools, we wanted some to be simple and some to be unique, so some tools are solely for pebble collection, while others aid exploration! But in the future we could definitely add some other functionalities to the simpler tools.
love the art style and the overall idea is cool. the characters are designed really well, and the grapple is a cool mechanic. As ppl have mentioned it would benefit from some way to help navigate the map, and cloud save, but the good thing is you’ve packed so much content into a small jam period! I just wish I could play it all, not just in one go :( great job though!
This game is really awesome! You put so much time into making a ton of content, I dont know if the game is done yet, I didn't make it to the end, but I got to 4 grapples and found the fork and spoon! I think for a game jam, a game of this length will probably not get played all the way through, and if you want people to then you should definatally have cloud save. The art is amazing, the main slime has really good animations and particles! I do think it would've been cool to have the towns or whatever have buildings and stuff, as sort of a waypoint to remember where you are, because since there's no indicator on the map of anything really, leaving landmarks in these endless expanses of tilesets really helps keep players on track. I'm just being nitpicky because I think this game has super potential, and it's really polished already in most places! Great game
Thanks a lot! Yeah we definitely wanted to add more landmarks and distinguishable features around the map and in towns but ran out of time. We definitely plan to do save and load for a full release in the future as well. I’m glad you enjoyed!
a huge amount of content and nice artstyle. i wish you have a windows build so that we could have perisistent data save? that would've made more sense. i love the grapple system and the designs of all the dessert characters. makes me wanna eat them all...
Crazy well realised. I would recommend some kind of indicators on the maps though, navigating is awkward without obvious landmarks.
I agree, given more time we would definitely have a stronger map system, but didn't have time to flesh it out for the jam. We plan to include a more cohesive map in future updates
cool! i think the theme interpretation was a bit weak, but the gameplay was super fun. love the main mechanic. also a really simple but effective artstyle.
The "guess what" joke got me off guard xD
