I think this game is pretty good overall. The movements feel good and I could certainly see it becoming even more fun with skill. I thought the level design was a bit lacking, especially when it comes to where the player is supposed to go. Often times in these types of games you want the player to feel like the levels are relatively sight readable, at least once the player gets comfortable with the controls. Putting in more arrows and less dead ends would improve the gameplay. I like the idea of the portal gun, however I definitely tried to use it like the other games (LMB and RMB). Also allowing the player to place portals in this type of game could be really fun but also could result in the game getting stale as the fastest solutions end up becoming who can place the portals the fastest rather than using any of the fun movement mechanics. I didn't get much in the way of agent from this demo but I guess that part of the story can be added later. Also the narrative is giving the aesthetics of a crazy plot twist and the only thing the player is given is that sometimes the levels are in color and upside down. TLDR: I think this game has potential. The mechanics need refining, the level design needs to be clearer, and it needs a full story to make great.

Developer

Did you like the cutscenes? That is where I tried to implement the story. Agreed on level design, I tried probuilder for the first time, and it was fun, although I'm not very good at level design 🫠

Your game is really cool! I love the idea of having multiple tools and being able to use them however you want to get through the levels. I personally used the grappling hook the most.

Congratulations on your submission!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Solid movement game my friend. Top of the leaderboard as of now. Clipped out of the map when I was trying to crush level 6 time. Somewhere on the downward recoil shot just sent me flying. Guess I'm just too fast hehe.

Developer(+1)

Haha, glad you enjoyed it! I noticed that as well

Developer(+1)

YOU GOT FIRST IN EVERY LEADERBOARD? This is unacceptable, I will return... Once I get back to my computer

Submitted

Oh yeah, bring me a speed movement game with a leader board you best believe I'm aiming for the top. Used to speedrun for fun so this brought back some good memories haha. Great game!

Developer(+1)

You are literally the target audience lol

Developer(+1)

Also looked at the logs, looks like you played for like 2 hours?

I believe so, I wasn't keeping track but I for sure sunk some time into. Mostly beating the first level time to get the hang of the momentum and optimal strategies, the four corners level to secure a solid time, and then the final to really tie all the mechanics together.

Very enjoyable! Definitely some portal vibes which i love. Keep it going!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Very fun game, some of the levels are less intuitive, many of the closed spaces were disorienting, but the idea was addictive.

Developer

I agree, level design could have been better. Level design isn't really my thing lol

This is a really sick game! Movement felt nice, but a bit slippery and some walls felt like I was stuck on them. I love all the 3 movement tools, they're very cool. The story was done really well too! I didn't really expect there to be any story outside of the tutorial and you choose the right music for all the levels. Great job!

Developer

Really glad you enjoyed it!

There's some cool mechanics! I liked the knockback gun a lot, although the force could probably be reduced? Movement felt very floaty which made it a bit difficult, but I still managed to beat all the levels. You could consider adding more level mechanics, similar to the rotating platforms in the dropper level! A larger variety of mechanics would give a lot of potential for different uses of the guns which would really enhance the gameplay. The story was definitely engaging and I liked the effects and the twist of one of the levels becoming upside-down? Very cool stuff, great job!

Really glad you enjoyed it!

cool game. definitely reminds me of KARLSON, maybe you took some inspo :) I do like the concept and the grapple gun, as ppl have said its slightly janky, but i think with some smoother movement skills this would be a super cool mobile game. great job.

Developer

Thanks man, glad you liked it!

hey man just played it its good but it can be improved . anyway can u play my game

Interesting mechanic. I feel like the wall textures need some work, especially in the big areas. Getting too close was causing me to lose my bearings in the room. The physics also seemed overly sensitive as well. I could definitely see this being fun with a bunch of people in the same room.

Developer

Definitely could work on the textures! As for the mechanics, some of that is to design, as the game is meant for speedrunning and going fast. I appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing!

That makes sense, but some of the issues I was experiencing was like slippery ice-like floors on the level with the 4 buttons. Just trying to walk to the button was causing me to skate passed it. Also the runnable walls were a little too sticky when not in front of them but to the side on a black non-runnable wall, if that makes sense. That also may have just been me stuck using the grapple without realizing.

Developer

Yeah, in the triangle room I forgot to set the ground to the floor layer lol

This game was super awesome! I love a good grappling hook, although it was a little janky in a few places, but it still felt really fun to use! I got to level 4, and it was pretty cool! The portal gun was pretty glitched though, and when I would shoot a wall it would not place it where I shot but sometimes really far away or on the other side of the wall or something, I got glitched into the cieling in level 2, but alas things happen in game jams. I think with some bug fixing and movement tuning, this game has real potential!

Developer

Sometimes that would happen with the portal gun or grapple gun, remember that white walls are wall run walls, meaning you can't shoot portals on them. Also, the ending of the game is really the peak of the game, so if you get a chance, you should try finishing it. It'll only take 5 min 😀

Oh ok for sure, Ima try and rate every game then I'll come back!
