This is a really cool concept! The tic-tac-toe mechanic is pretty cool, and I liked how it wasn't too easy to always match the correct preferences every time. You also had a good variety of mechanics that work well together. If I could give some feedback, I think the bonuses could be a little more clear. I wasn't exactly sure how much of a bonus I was getting after finishing a square, so it could be a good idea to have the actual multipliers incorporated into the UI as well. I would have also liked some sort of redraw/discard system (although it would probably take quite a bit of balancing) since sometimes I would play a bad card randomly to try and reroll for one that would fit. Of course, these things are definitely post-jam things, but just some thoughts!
But overall, I really enjoyed your take on the theme and the SFX's fit well. Congrats on your submission!
Appreciate the feedback! We wish we had more card controls, less true random, and more UI to help express mechanics. All good things for a post jam build! Thank you for playing!
Thanks for the feedback! As the audio guy, I'm glad you enjoyed the SFX!
Loved the concept, would love to see it expand as an actual full-fledged game
We have a ton of stretch goals we would love to get at, 3d table art, a growing/scrolling map, complex loves/hates... the list goes on!
BEAT MY HIGH SCORE 16,200 !! this was fun i enjoyed creating harmonious plots
You beat me!! Highest I got was 15,200!
Thanks so much for playing!
Beat my 22,500!
Really fun gameplay! I liked having to think about the neighborhoods and the town as a whole, and not being able to set the board or see upcoming cards leading to a little gambling hehe. It reminded me a bit of balatro in a good way, and the art is absolutely stunning!!! Props :D
The only thing that felt weird was how every character "hated" to live with a whole species, especially since elves and orcs have pretty racially stereotyped origins/connotations. I feel like noise, neighborhood events, or playmates for kids as metrics would make more sense to me rather than everyone wanting to pay more or less for their home because of who lived next door
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed my artwork! I appreciate the feedback on the how to differentiate the hate. Those concepts are great and would love to see them implemented.
This is very unique, and once I started to get the hang of it it was fun! The art is great, and the interface is good too! I think there should be more variety in the things that affect the happiness of the people, but that could come later. Also having a retry button instead of game quit button would be good as well. Overall, I think it's simple but fun!
Yeah I think that pairing with other loved environments or races should definitely change their disposition. Definitely out of scope as the sole artist on the team haha. Thanks so much for the feedback!
hey the visuals r soo good now can u pls raye my game
Thanks so much! I will check your game out.
Gameplay is pretty solid, though a bit confusing. Graphics are fantastic. Needs a retry button instead of "Retire" button that just quits out of the whole thing. Maybe a leader board too.
I agree it would be nice to restart from the get go. Leader board is a fantastic idea, thanks for that! Glad you enjoyed the art.
I was struggling to understand at the start
the visuals are fire
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
