This was such a fun and cute little experience! Sprites were great and the music was well done! Awesome work!

I really enjoyed the writing as well, I tend to be the type to not enjoy interacting with everything but I enjoyed the act of exploring in this one :)

Thank you so much, that means a lot! :)

Great game! I enjoyed the art and while this is probably the first GB game I've played in a while this game definitely struck a cord that reached back into my past playing GB games that really made the experience more impactful for me that I don't think was due to the art alone.
I took my time to explore and the game rewards you for this as the story is expressed through the many things you can interact with in your environment. Great work on that!
I really liked that the bus scene wasn't a simple transition and the provided game play lead to some amusing ways to get to the beach.
For some reason the music or sound effects didn't play for me until the end credits began to roll which was disappointing as I think I may have missed some content with the cassettes I found and the boombox. I am not sure if this was a glitch or was something that was cut under time constraint. I also don't think the game followed the limitation well unless I missed something as I didn't find there was anything that mislead me or made me stop and think if I should do the opposite to what I am being told. But perhaps I missed something there.
All in all a great and fun game! It has definitely made me interested in Romance Quest! The story was fun and I think it really added to the theme! Great work Augustar Games!

Thank you very much! That means a lot to me because this game and its predecessor were inspired by the gameboy games of my youth. Specifically the first game was heavily inspired by the game long side quest in Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons!

There is definitely a lot of music (all made by me), so I’m not sure what happened, maybe a glitch? Also sometimes in the browser you have to click the game with your mouse for the music to start? Not sure, but I hope you give the game another shot if you get the music working! :)

Also the lie was that ***SPOILERS*** not only would you never actually be able to buy the hat, but you didn’t actually need the hat at all, as Parker had a hat the whole time! I wanted to go a bit more layered and broad of a lie than a fully literal interpretation. There’s actually a second bonus ending that you can get by knowing that information and being a bit persistent. ;)

Glad you enjoyed!

Cute game!

Liked the art and thought the music was pretty charming!

The game itself was rather simple, but the writing was fun and overall enjoyable to explore about.

Good job!

The art work is very cute. Just one thing irked me, for the texts before the game starts.. the outline of green around different green text with this font, had me difficulty reading things. May be it was just the render on my machine though, can’t be sure.

Yeah unfortunately there are only so many pixels and the screens worked well in another colour palette but less so in this one.

Glad you enjoyed!

An adorably short n sweet game with a beautiful style, I'm a sucker for pixels. This project oozes charm, and I'll be watching for your future projects :)

Developer

Thank you so much! That’s such a high compliment! :)

Very cute and polished, great music. Gameplay seems to be mostly interaction and dialogue based.

It was funny and enjoyable. Being able to move and jump as the bus was hilarious.

Hehe yay! Someone found my little easter egg!

Pretty cute and short game with quite a lot of story content, the gameplay is mostly going around and exploration which is pretty cute (though without context I guess I don’t get a lot of backstory)

The arts and sounds are pretty neat as well, though some pixel art does not have the same size it does look kinda odd here and there but I guess it’s not that big an issue.

Developer

Yeah, that’s kinda the thing with gameboy style stuff, scale takes a far backseat to vibes and whatnot. Think of Pokémon Red where Ash’s house is about 3-5 of him wide lmao.

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed!

WOW, that played exactly how I remember GB games playing, that was so much fun and lots of effort. Gotta come back for the full story! thanks for your submission and stoked for you to try mine and your rating!
