Uhh how to mine sweep uhhhh
Loved the art here, even tho it couldn't be run on average NES. Love the audio also! Good stuff i like it a lot!
I'm terrible at minesweeper but I gave it my best shot lol
* INCREDIBLE music but definitely waaaay higher fidelity than a 32 bit console let alone 8 lol. It's like a Jake Kaufman remix album or something.
* Aesthetics are fantastic, it's very polished and juiced to a tee. I think it would work on an NES too minus the volume of the particles.
* The movement of Sweepy was very frustrating (probably due to my playstyle see below)... sometimes I would be pretty sure about one or two but there was no rhyme or reason to the order the car went so I just threw away perfectly good runs on some bomb in the corner of the map. I wish he was a little more predictable, or there was another layer on the game where you plotted the sweeping route. OR maybe he has a limited number of lives that I need to repair, punishing me for playing recklessly and fitting with the rest of the store that I have too much money for.
* I found having to mine the squares with gold on them twice as unintuitive at first. Maybe if the squares looked more like ore that you had to mine? With regular rocks you want to try and put flags there and find they don't work so you try mining them, but with gold squares there's obviously no mine, so it took me a bit to get clued in that it was free money.
* Sometimes I would start a level with 0 flags and not even notice? Not sure if bug
* The mechanical purpose of the rocks/pickaxe didn't really work for me, probably since my playstyle was weird. I was doing a lot of short "just get some guaranteed coin and get out" runs rather than trying to clear the screen, because it's safer for my lives that way and there's no real penalty other than my time. I always had a huge surplus of pickaxes. At worst I'd lose one heart and 2 coin is a pretty measley price especially as the level rewards go up.
* I loved the idea of taking both the mining and sweeping parts of 'minesweeper' and transforming them into something new
* I thought the boss fight was really neat too! Adding a boss to minesweeper is not something I ever thought I'd see in my life but it works lol.
Great entry!
Super satisfying to play, and a really nice twist on the classic! The music was awesome too, i found myself lost in this game just chilling.

Super chill vibes and a lot of fun. The art and animations are my favorite part. The juice y'all added is so good, too, but it pushes the game a little bit past the limits of what I'd expect an NES to be capable of. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
Pretty fun game. An impressive amount of content for a jam game. Good job.
I really like the game, i think I will keep playing it
This game was fun! Definitely something out of scope for an NES game but loved the vibe . I've always sucked at Minesweeper but this is a nice take.
Didn't feel like an NES game, but was pretty fun!
Very forgiving with the health system, and made it amusing to just speed through later levels, and doing a bit of guessing to trade off time spent on each level.
Not a huge fan of the surface mine gimmick, having to take damage to place a flag didn't feel very good.
Overall though, quite a polished, enjoyable experience!
neat twist on minesweeper. agree that it’s not really a nes game, though i do appreciate including modern mouse controls even if technically playable on nes controller. nice music and overall just a very polished game though. i liked thinking about new more optimal strategies, but i’m not entirely sure if blowing myself up repeatedly and restarting should really be the winning one 😬
Amazing game, but not a NES game. Nevertheless, thanks for including mouse input.
I especially liked how the HP sinks were included, or HP being a safety net for 50/50 guesses. Very fair and addictive. Played for an hour or so, and could see this as a full fledged game in the future, well done!
I was not expecting a boss fight in minesweeper XD
Amazing game! Lots of very clever animations and expertly designed "game juice". The graphics were very pleasing.
I spent an hour playing through to the end and would play again. The only thing... it seemed like sometimes the counts were wrong when tiles had exposed mines on top... or maybe I messed up on the logic... but it seemed to happen a few times.
very cool game but it doesnt feel like a nes game ngl
Very well done game. Nice twist on the minesweeper game. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is definitely one of the better games on this gamejam.
Very creative!
I mined and I swept! I will be back to do so again. Extra elements to a classic favorite of mine was very fun. Thank you!
Really cool concept and LOVELY color palette! Definitely fresh 🤩
Amazing rendition of minesweeper. If you like puzzles, this is just that but better. Unfortunately, due to certain graphical effects and colour limitations not being followed, as well as audio (while good) not following the NES format, I have to dock points for NES feel.
Extremely fun and captivating, I had to learn Minesweeper to play it. I just felt it was far from looking like an NES game, but as a game, it was the best I've played so far.
