Cute little puzzle game, loved the sokoban summer twist!
Cute little game. I think the art looks too busy for me, since it’s super low res.
It’s a cute take on the Sokoban genre. The puzzles weren’t too challenging, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s some parts that I don’t get though, like what’s the point of the coconut tree leaves? It seems to only exist to obscure the player and objects and make the puzzles artificially harder. Seems unnecessary and I would rather the game relies on pure puzzle-solving instead.
Audio is fine, could use music for sure. Theme and limitation interpretation feels kinda weak as well.
Thanks for the detailed feedback!
I agree the puzzles could've been more challenging. With the limited engine and game jam deadline, I did the best I could with the time I had.
For the theme, I based it on my own association with summer—a refreshing cold drink on a hot day
The palm leaves were intentional. I liked the idea of them forcing you to plan ahead, since they can obscure your character and make you rethink your path. I understand that won't be everyone's cup of tea though.
And I definitely agree that the game could've benefited from some music. Thanks again for playing!
It's a cute simple game, and you grasp the mechanics fairly quickly. Wish there was more to the audio than radio silence tho.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
I definitely agree about the audio. Unfortunately, because of the game jam's engine restriction, I wasn't really able to implement it the way I wanted. It's a bit of an excuse, I know, but it was one of the trade-offs I had to make to get the game finished in time. Thanks for the feedback!
I like the game, it's pretty fun. but the sounds
could use some work, I'm guessing that's an engine limitation though
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it :D
Yeah, the audio is definitely one of the weaker parts. The engine I used has some limitations, but I also chose it because I don't have much experience with audio yet, so I kept things fairly simple. I really appreciate the feedback though—it's something I'd like to improve in future projects.
