I really liked the game. From what i read the dev had like a week to make the game, so it gets bonus points from me. I believe the ,,instructions are a lie" was executed efficiently. The setting is beautiful, the play time is long enough to explore and to get acquainted with your bar duties, and also, (from one of the dev's replies) being their 1st ever game, i think they really tried and did their best. Congrats!
Hi! Thanks for playing my game! I really appreciate the feedback !
Seriously impressive knowing you did this solo and in half the available time!
The style and atmosphere are very charming. The section where you leave your room and need to get to the tavern feels immersive in the first playthrough and I loved looking at the world you built, but it makes subsequent runs a bit tedious. If I could have restarted directly from the tavern section, I would have definitely played it a few times after losing the first one to figure out the real objective.
Hi! Thanks a lot for the feedback! I do plan adding a "New game: Short" feature to the game where you'll be able to start from the tavern.
Right now, you have to start every time from your house because i wanted to make it multiplayer in the near feature and planned to add more interactions until the player reaches the tavern.
It’s very good looking. I feels buggy/laggy at times (at least on web build) but it’s not much of a problem. I agree that the goal of the game is not very clear at first. However, you managed to pull off a great explorative and immersive experience!
Hi! Thanks for playing my game! I had some issue with running it on WEBGL and i tried fixing it as much as I could. The game was made to be ran as executable unfortunately, but i made it web so more people in this jam can play it.
I really appreciate the feedback! Thanks a lot :)
I like the environment and the world that is built. It was a little hard to understand the game mechanic at first but ended up figuring it out.
Hi! Thanks for playing my game! I really appreciate the feedback :)
I don't really understand what the goal is. Poison a thief before they can commit a crime? I liked how the game started but giving the patrons things does not do anything (is that the lie?) I would shorten the dialog sound when you talk to the patrons, it gets a bit repetitive. Loved the world and the mountains in the background!
Hi! Thanks for playing my game! It's nice to see people appreciating my game, my first ever real game 😅
Now, to answer your questions, yes! The characters not being affected by the way you treat them(giving or not giving them food and drinks) and the tutorial that tells you that you should treat them nicely are the "instructions are a lie" part of the game.
The main goal of the game is to understand the story of each character and based on the dialog with them to poison the thief and keep the traveler's chest safe.
Thanks for the feedback!
I like the world you have built here. This seems like a more exploration game that I can vibe with.
