Cute game! I lowkey did not know you could choose body parts until the timer was at like 30 seconds, I was leaving it at default settings because I didn't know you could select them. The turtle physics were really fun to mess around with and the art is really well done.
Hi! Thanks for playing my game, I'm glad that you liked it!
I agree with you on that, that mechanic went out very confusing. In future updates I'll try to make it more understandable and entertaining
loved the turtles and how you could splice them with the drag-drop mechanic! Great job on the physics and the art 👌
Hi! Thanks for playing the game, I'm glad you liked it!
(Also like your name!)
Woah, thanks! I like it too ^-^
The art in this was really cute! Had fun tossing them turtles into space :)
H!! Thanks for playing my game, I’m glad that you liked it!
What I like most about this game is that you can throw the turtles into the air. The physics are quite well done. And I’d love to have an endless mode where you can breed different species without any time limits.
Hi! Thank you for playing my game and leaving a comment, I really appreciate it!
I also really like the turtle physics, had a lot of giggles about it during development. I'll try to incorporate your suggestions in future updates
Very cute concept. It would cool to see some randomness to the body parts rather than specifically picking which parent's traits to inherit every single time. For example, if you bred a shark turtle in Generation 1, then the shark genes slowly "disappear," but all of a sudden in generation 5... boom! Shark head!
HI! Thank you for playing my game and for commenting, it means alot!
Your idea is very cool actually. To be honest, I had something similar in mind while working on a game, but it was a bit too hard to make in time, so the idea was scrapped. In future updates I'll see what I can do and try to add more randomness, as well as a family tree so that player could scroll through generations and see how many turtles were there and what kind there were
The time factor is always what gets people in these game jams! I don't think I've submitted one yet that I actually had enough time.
Sooner or later it will definitely work out, I believe in you!
Interesting start to a game. Good effort on the UI
Thank you for playing my game! I'm glad you liked UI, I had a lot of fun working on it
These turtles are cute!
Thanks for playing my game, I'm glad that you liked the turtles! I like them too ^-^
I like how you can throw turtles around, great animation as well. The game needs a more interesting goal or some challenge.
Also, any issues with importing game to the web? I'm not sure why downloading is required
Hello! Thanks for playing my game!
During testing, the web build had some nasty scaling issues because the game's native resolution is a bit too big for standard browser windows, making the UI render incorrectly. Downloading it is the only way to make sure everything looks right and doesn't break for now. I'm planning to fix this issue in future updates
It feels more like toy than a game, and I'm not super sure what the splicing does. It also crashed when I tried to press delete with my cursor on one of the "body part" (I think). The art is very cute though.
Thanks for your comment and for mentioning the bug, it was a small bug in the code that will be fixed in future updates after the jam ends
I didn't initially intend this game to be anything serious, just wanted to make something fun and relaxing, rather than dynamic. I had a few more ideas, like terrarium customization, but procrastination got the better of me, so it turned out the way it did. I'll continue updating it in the future so it takes on the original form
In the "Splice It" window, you need to combine the parents' genes. To do this, click on a parent gene, then click on the child's gene, the ones in the middle column, to fix the selected gene on a body part
Thank you for playing Mutashells!
