This is a really, really cool take on the theme and the tower defense genre! Love the presentation across the board, and really dig just about everything about this one! :D
I got skill issue-d as the nights are kinda rough, but overall I really dig what you put down! SFX is nice and crunchy, the spreadshot mechanic is a nice diff curve setting, that said with the fire rate of the first weapon it feels a bit punishing.
The wall getting destroyed than enemies coming up to you is a neat touch though and the shop has so many cool things to explore! Well done! Love to see another Usagi entry!
Didn't understand to to start second nigh. Game is fine. You could use different sound for buller as it sounds like to drive in nails
Playing this made me deeply nostalgic for playing zombie defense flash games in the 2000s. I would have happily played this for an hour.
Your gunshots, explosions, and splatters were all satisfying to see, hear and feel. The pixel art was nice and cohesive.
Seeing the zombies destroy the wall and then climb on top was a huge surprise the first time that it happened, it is was a genuinely scary and cool moment.
I do wish the game was a little faster. I would personally prefer faster zombies that die in fewer hits with more drastic upgrades - but that's simply my taste. What you have here is nails the atmosphere of a slowly approaching horde.
Really fantastic entry!
Thank you so much!! One of my inspirations was Zombie Estate II for the Xbox 360, so you're pretty close!
The game being too slow definitely seems to be the consensus. I barely had time to playtest, so I'm not surprised that's how it turned out 😅 I just tried doubling the number of zombies and cutting their HP in half, and it's definitely a lot better.
Awesome work!
Not sure if skill issue on my part. But the night seems to be a bit too dark for my taste and the zombies are a bit too tanky :P
Not a skill issue! I usually make everything too hard before I have time to refine it. Also, if you download the game, the zombies eyes are bright red and they should be easier to see. Thanks for playing!
genuinelly fun, i can see myself playing this more than the total time i spent making my own submission haha
i'm glad it turned out fun! i didn't have much time to playtest so i guess i got lucky in that regard
The pixel art, screenshake, and particle effects are all so beautiful and work together so well! I really enjoyed the weight of the choices I made each morning. And the bullet-spread mechanic as your cursor is further from the wall was a great touch!
Was this made in Picotron? Regardless, very well done!
tysm!! I'm not that great at pixel art so honestly I surprised myself with how well everything turned out. This was made in Usagi Engine!
Usagi! What a delight!
