Bolatro + slay the spire?  Who would say no to a game combining the 2 greatest deck builder of all time?

This is a very fun roguelike deckbuilder combat game! The art and music are also cohesive with the theme. Great job.!

Saw your clarification about using premade art, I would say that the selection of using premade art is also part of game design. So as long as you credit the author, you should at least take credit for selecting a premade asset that would fit into your game's theme.

This game's mechanic is very creative, interesting and have a lot potential!

Just a note of clarification—I want to stress that you should not incorporate the card art into your rating for this game’s visuals. All playing cards, tarot cards, and hanafuda cards were premade assets which I purchased. Specifically, the french suited and tarot cards are from here: https://backterria.itch.io/the-cards and the hanafuda are from here: https://jcanabal.itch.io/hanafuda-deck-pixel-art . I do not usually use premade assets, but in this case I wasn’t sure what cards I was going to need and didn’t want to invest the time if I could avoid it, and as it came down to the wire as is I feel that was the correct choice. All other art in the game is my own, and the creators of these assets are named in the credits at the title screen. I just wanted to make sure all of this was very clear and make sure no one was misled.

Very cool take on the deckbuilding rougelike genre. While the learning curve is steep, there's a lot of player agency within the combat system that makes experimenting with different strategies fun and engaging.

Wildly impressive game! Had a lot of fun and although it did take a little bit to figure out, it is a great gameplay loop and I played it a couple of times, didn't get past round 15 or so though. Did face some bugs through which I got hardlocked (see other comment) but I think that if you fix those you have a really solid and fun game!

An interesting card game, it looks polished. The only thing missing is the sound of shuffling cards when you hover over them with the mouse, but that’s not a big deal. The cards themselves look good, I like the art.

I enjoyed your take on a deckbuilder game! I really like the animations in your game. Very stylish. Maybe it's just me, but it take a little for me to figure out how to discard and 'score' in the combat encounters. But once I did, it was quite fun. I also liked the event encounters. It added nice variety to the gameplay and the way of resolving them via guessing whether your card is higher or lower was quite unique. Great job!

think i've encountered a glitch, during an Elite Combat, room 7/30, where the Score button would not let me submit a hand (best i had was a high card).

other than that, wow! the cards and events and combat system feel quite elaborate for a nine-day jam! not entirely sure i get how the theme fits in, but it's still an impressive game! congrats!

Dang, I was hoping I’d fixed that bug! It happened to both my playtesters but I could never replicate it on my end, so I patched up everything I thought it might have been, but I guess it eluded me. I wonder if it only happens in the browser version.

Thanks for the praise! I super overscoped on this and was crunching basically every day I didn’t have work, and some of the more theme-focused elements I’d planned got cut for time, so that part doesn’t surprise me. Still, glad you liked it!
