Yeah buddy! If I could change anything I would just increase the spawn rate and make the hitboxes smaller. (and give me something to do with my money!)

Developer

I did make version with a shop but due to time pressure, I uploaded my old version without checking.

The 80s music was catchy, merging of the animals was fun; I was set on getting the elusive disco turtle... and I did! I wanted to see where you were going with the currency mechanic if you had more time. Also the bugginess of the game (animals falling through the bottom) actually became a game in itself as I was rushing to "rescue" them before they fell all the way through the bottom. In a sense it was almost like a sandbox type game, whether intentional or not. I liked it!

Thank you. I was worried about the bug ,but learning that it gave a good experience makes me happy. I uploaded a old build instead of the latest one where I made a shop and kept upgrades in a hurry.

Nice game, I had fun!  It would be nice if you could use the money for upgrades.  Some fun upgrade ideas would be spawning animals faster, and an expensive upgrade to spawn animals 1 level higher (so starting at foxes instead of possums).   Congrats on your first jam and nice work!

Developer

I did implement the shop features, but I mistakenly uploaded an older build instead of the latest version due to last-minute pressure. I am glad you liked it.

The sprites are really cute! I noticed they were a bit blurry though, so I'd like to give some friendly advice.  try setting the texture filtering to nearest next time; your pixel art will look a lot sharper!

Developer

Thanks for the reminder I will keep that in mind, I was really focused on submitting the game at the last moment I did not check my texture filtering.
