interesting concept, nicely done. very scientifically accurate.
Interesting concept. The crunch sounds very crunchy. Seagulls are my enemy. Good entry!
Unique concept and the theme is well intergrated here! Did feel like it could be faster
Nice work! I did a quick recording of my play in case it's helpful: Crusty Rush by Magic43, Alex | Cap Recording
I had fun dodging the seagulls and rocks, I should have been spamming my food more often as I was just using it to move at the start, but really should have also used it during 'down time'. I also really like the art style and music, very quick to feel immersed as the crab.
I would be interested to see what the result of playing around with the speeds of the crab/rocks and seagulls - maybe slightly slower seagulls and faster movement on the crab/rocks. Also perfect to have some scaling difficulty where you would move slightly faster over time.
I also think a nice little addition would have been a game over screen with your score, and an option to play again. I actually didn't realise the first time I had died fully and started a new game 😆
Great game jam entry - well done!
Golly! I did not expect a video playtrough, thats very nice of you :)))))))
There actually is a mechanic making object move faster with each piece of food eaten the thing is its just poorly balanced, cause we ran out of time for that. Oh, and that pink filter on the screen is actually game over screen that we kindaaaa forgor and then it was to late to make it more obvious.
Thanks for playing and such in depth feedback, I think you inspired me to do that video reviews of jam games, I will try to do that next time!
Thank you so much for the review video!
The review is indeed very helpful.
I can understand the criticism and should we iterate on the game post-jam we will definitely work it into the game.
Thank you again for playing our game! Much appreciated!
We published a tweaked version, fixing most known issues. Maybe now it is more playable.
Nice one! The seagull alarm plays in my head hahaha
Just in case you dont see them! Thanks for playing :)
This game presents very well (good graphics and audio). The gameplay is a nice (and unique) variation on those kind of 3 lane games. There's more strategy involved in how you place your food vertically/horizontally, rather than just being about quick button pressing (that other 3-lane games are (not sure the genre name))
Thank you so much for feedback! We were trying to get something else than other games in this genre. Glad it worked out. Thanks for playing :)))))))
Nice entry, those seagulls were pesky, ha.
They were kind enough to give you a warning ;)
I had a great time playing! You used the theme in such a creative way.
Im so happy to hear that :) Thanks for playing!
Very nice concept and visually looking very nice overall gameplay is very good
Glad to hear that :)
Cool art and animations :D overall a very complete entry in a very impressive time, congrats!
Thank you for kind words!
Really good!
But I missed the text on the top and didn't understand why my game restarted suddenly, I thing a game over screen could have been great! But great for the really short time you had!
There actually is game over screen which appears after loosing 3 lives or your fear bar being full. It apears for short amunt of time tough so you could have missed it. Thanks dor playing and feedback :)))))
Pao Fers already mentioned my issues so i will just say this:
Cool game with a nice loop 💚
Thanks for playing!
This is a cool concept for a crab game. I have some feedback:
All things considered, it's quite nice for only 2.3 hours :)
We tried to balance it to the last second! Literally XD. Thanks for playing and feedback, apreciate that :)
