This is my first time in a jam is my game acceptable https://hussproxd.itch.io/time-running-out

Edit: I updated the game (only web) and fixed alot of issues.

Edit 2: I updated the game AGAIN but this should be the last patch (hopefully)

Okay,  just a few points:
- In general, making the hitboxes smaller than the hazard is better: Spike hiboxes feel too large
- Player sprite is slightly offset
- Checkpoint is hard to see, maybe make it a pole or smth
- Breaking sound is waaaayy too loud
- I would recommend not having an idle animation, as it awkwardly snaps the sprites rotation

Thank you for trying my game. The last part i kinda dont agree with but i think adding a simple animation of the player rotating back after stopping for a brief amount of time would be better.

Also remember that not every piece of feedback is correct, and sometimes is due to another, unrelated problem

It is good though

Thanks i will consider your feedback. I didn't make the music the original creators are credited in the description of the game. I will try your game when i get back at my computer.

This is a cool game! I agree with everyone else and think the hitboxes are a bit too big.
In most games, it's better when players think "How did that not hit me" instead of "How did that hit me". Since it feels fairer and more responsive.

If you also have time, a volume slider would also help a lot. The audio is a bit too loud.
Finally, I feel like the snapping back to the original rotation is a bit sudden. A small animation or transition could make it feel more natural if that's what you want.

I would love if you could play my game: Project Helix

Thanks for playing. I tried to make the hit boxes as small as possible to a realistic level but now that i see the feedback i am reconsidering it.

I wanted to add a volume slider but i don't have alot of time these days i am currently busy with irl stuff so i just added a mute and unmute buttons as a quick fix.

I think i will be free tomorrow or the day after it hopefully not too late but when that time comes i will give your game a shot.

Damn man I just checked out your game.   It had a really cool atmosphere with the computer monitor layout and background music.  A really good overall package!

Thank you so much! All of this feedback means so much to me! This is my first time making a game and my first time joining a jam, so it feels unreal seeing people enjoy it. I checked your game too and it's really cool! I love all the colors, and it feels super polished. The leaderboard is cool too. I instantly have a ton of respect for anyone who tackles multiplayer or server related stuff. Great job!

Is there any way to actually make the game full screen? When I try to do so, the actual game window stays the same as when playing windowed inside the browser - it doesn't get any bigger.

I'm sorry i don't know how to fix this but if you wanted full screen you can download and play the game on windows

This is a cool game.  Congrats on getting it uploaded to Itch!

I agree that the death sound is way too loud.  but also, the game waits for the sound (which is relatively long) to finish before respawning.  Because it's a "rage platformer" (at least I'm assuming it is and you're expecting players to die a lot), it really would benefit the game design to make the respawn fast.  I was frustrated after falling, and then moreso when I'm waiting three and a half seconds to respawn at the bottom of the pit.

Other than that man I thought the controls were fine.  You did a good job introducing them at the start.

Ubiquitous plug to playtest my game.  I already implemented a ton of feedback: starboardbowgames.itch.io/spinsanity

Thanks for playing the game. When i made the game it was intended for it to be a platformer with a bit of difficulty but it doesn't matter whether its a rage platformer or not i think making respawning skippable is better than not.

I will try your game when i have time.
