Hello everyone! We are nearing the end of this jam. As much fun as it was to make my game, I'm definitely feeling a bit burnt out lol. I just finished squashing the rest of my game's bugs and I'm feeling good about it! If you want a play tester, feel free to put links here! How does everyone else feel as we are getting closer to the rating period?

And yeah, Itch is definitely struggling under the last-minute rush. Anyone else having problems? Hopefully it doesn't cause too much trouble for anyone's submission.

Wow this is a lot of games lol!

With every comment I need to solve a new captcha! I'm a master at these now. I should sign up for the next captcha world tournament.

Submissions have started! Good luck everyone! Here is my game if anyone would like to rate it! Project Helix

The finishing early and spending the rest polishing is a thing I think a lot of people felt lol. This does seem like a really polished game though! The controls are simple and easy to learn. The character reminds me of Om Nom from cut the rope. The rainbow powerups are a nice addition. They help add a bit of variety. I did notice that if they touch the bottle, they don't trigger an explosion. Not sure if this is intentional or not but thought I should point it out. The music and sfx sound nice. They feel like they fit the game really well! You did a great job with it! Congrats! I wish you luck during the rating period!

Hi, any feedback is appreciated!

Wow this is a cool game! I have seen a couple games about washing machines, but this one definitely stands out. I feel like this game has great pacing, kind of easy at the start but quickly gets very difficult. The beeping sounds when a machine is overheating made me panic lol. A couple of issues I noticed was that the game kind of threw you in it without much of a tutorial. I learned quickly but was a little overwhelmed when it first loaded trying to read everything. I also couldn't realize that for the upgrades I already either owned them or the powerups were maxed out. I think maybe a better visual indicator that an upgrade has been purchased might be nice. Overall, this is a good game, it's really fun and seems well polished. I didn't find any bugs! Good job!

Submitted

Thank you very much! All the things that you pointed are exactly what I was expecting, from the tutorial to the shop visuals. I don't really know if I'm going to change something in time (and I'm exhausted lol). I think that I can live with that this time. Thank you again!

You are welcome! Im sure everyone is exhausted from this jam lol. Whatever you decide to do will be the right decision. I wish your game luck during the rating period!

Hey!! It would mean the world if you could test out my game as well, https://kio42069.itch.io/dellman

Just adding buttons today so it is now playable on mobile as well

Kind of a hard game but it's fun! I really like the idea of the world slowing down as you are closer to dying. The platforming was difficult, but I felt the boss was really easy. I just stood in place spamming my attack button and the wind-up button so I couldn't die. It was during this fight I noticed that the wind up does not have a cap, so I was able to replay it and get to the boss within a couple jumps. I was also able to fall out of the map with a really high timer count so it would have been hard to decrease it to respawn. I think there should be some collider that if you fall out of the map it respawns you. Or you could limit the number of spins so the player can't get fast enough to jump out of the level. I also kept accidentally hitting space to jump and then just walking off the edge of a platform so that was a bit frustrating. The music does sound really good, but I think your game might also benefit from more sfx like from attacking/killing an enemy or winding up the gear? clock? thing. I think if you cap the max spin that would solve a lot of your problems! Hope this helps!

Submitted

Done! I was getting the similar suggestion of having a spin cap and world boundaries, so I have added them in. As for having a suitable sfx for attacks or winding up, I wasn't able to find anything suitable 😔 which is why I didn't add in anything for now. If I run into any good effects packs for this specific requirement, I'll go ahead and patch it in. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Much appreciated! Hope you all get a great result!

This is a cool game! I feel like the spinning is a little of an afterthought, but I do like how you get different bullet effects depending on the result. Especially if you get an infinite ammo spin when there is a ton of enemies. I did find myself not using the grappling hook or the spin ability because I would just run in circles so the enemies would all group up in the center. The sound effects also sounded like they were lagging as the game was progressing and I was hitting more enemies at once. I do like the art style though. The face in the bottom reminds me of those old doom-like games. I also can't figure out what the green bar in the corner is supposed to mean. I did not find any bugs which is good! The game was very fun to play. Good job!

so cool, congratulations!

hello hope you get great result

here my game to play test it if you want to : https://vivojijo-45.itch.io/spin-wheel-drink

This is a nice, short game. I didn't really know what I was doing until I read the game description (I thought the lava was soup, and the poison was a health bottle since when I landed on it, I happened to lose and the game reset lol) I also can't figure out what the circle icon or the question mark on the wheel is supposed to do? Maybe an explanation somewhere on what things do could be helpful? You should also consider adding a short wheel spin sound effect each time the player spins the wheel. Congratulations on making a game though! It is a very difficult thing to do so you should be proud that you did it!

Submitted

well thank you so much for testing it
as you said ther is a lot of some missing stuff like discription and like tutorial the wheel sound but what can i say i didnt have much time i strugelled a lot with the wheel code becous first time making wheel and that take a lot of time
any way thank you so much for play test

You are welcome! You did a very good job!

I hope theres not too many bugs. I havent caught any in my playtests. Heres the link if you wanna check it out https://thedoritosdudestudios.itch.io/pay-roll

The only thing that I found that might be a bug is that my camera can go through the walls and floor so I can see what's behind them. I don't have the patience to finish the full game lol, but it is a nice rage game. I also love the pun of pay roll. The calming music is also funny for the type of game this is.  Maybe one day I will be able to finish it.

Submitted

Hii, we haven't finish yet but we want feedback about your experience with the game, mainly the gameplay, whether it's fun and how the theme is applied in the game. Here is the link: https://strandedskeleton.itch.io/theofih

Submitted

Haha! This is a really funny game! I love the minigames and the story is really funny. The minigames are really fun to play but can get difficult quickly as it gets faster. I feel like the stock photos with the watermark add so much to the experience and feel. I don't really see how the theme fits the game, but it is really serious, so it deserves a very serious "Good Job".

This is a really cool game! I love that you spin your mouse instead of some in game object! I also love how the background makes you feel like you are flying really fast. I encountered one bug when I first started playing where the skip dialogue button for the first level made the screen get stuck in blackness but otherwise it was a really fun game. I think maybe some indication of how far jumps are might be helpful because I was kind of guessing and then hoping I would live lol.

Amazing job, I love it!

I really need testing as i finished this game at 3 am.  And at that hour i am bound to make some mistakes.

This is a really difficult game. The movement is very hard to get used to but the number of lives makes up for my skill issue lol. It is fun but I don't think you are allowed to use the Risk of Rain soundtrack or terraria sound effects in your game (as much as I love these games), even with the credits. The music is copyrighted by the Risk of Rain IP holders and using it without explicit permission or a license is copyright infringement. This is the same thing with the terraria sound effects. Even if your game is tiny or free, itch can still take down your project if someone reports it. And game jams often require that all assets be legally usable. However, there are plenty of free resources out there that you can use with credits: incompetech Music is the website I used for my game. They have a bunch of music that you can use as long as you credit them. For SFX you can also check out: Freesound, Pixabay, or Mixkit. If you can change the music and sfx to something you can use it would be a great game!

Well thank you for telling me, i had a lapse in judgement.

I also might not have enough time to make it easier as i have to get up early tmmr

Submitted

can you check mine too?  https://dawnbeast.itch.io/box-stacker its a little arcade game nothing too complicaded

Submitted

I found a little physics bug. The blocks freeze when you stack them in a weird way,, and I can't play anymore. Game is really fun though.

Submitted

This is an interesting game idea! It's fun to play and I really like the spinning wheel sfx. There was one point in the game where I got the same piece 5 times in a row so that was a little annoying. I also felt that sometimes the boxes were weirdly bouncy and they just bounced off the edge (might be a me problem). This is a really good game! Good job!

Submitted

Would really appreciate some feedback https://dreg00n.itch.io/slime-control

This is a pretty cool game, but I don't feel like it matches the theme really well. Even though there are slot machines you don't really see them spin. If you added a short spinning animation that could make it fit the theme better. Also, I found this clock in the map and I'm able to go right next to it and enemies can't reach me. I would also recommend toning down the screen shake a little. It can get really intense really easily. Usually for screen shake you do not want to overdo it. Good job making this game though!

Submitted

Thanks for the feedback! The slot machines do actually have a spinning animation, so idk why you couldn't see it.

Submitted

Oh, they do? that's weird I just saw the available powerups to select. Hope my feedback was helpful! Good luck with your game!

Hello! This is a really cute game! I love the art style! There were only a couple issues I had but otherwise the game is really good!

When I was upgrading vampirism there were a lot of floating-point numbers. You might want to limit the amount of numbers shown.

Also, I thought the three horizontal lines would be a pause menu or something, I didn't expect for them to take me back to the main menu and reset my run. Was a little bummed that happened. Might want to put a warning or continue button on the main page to prevent this from happening.

This is a really cool game! Good job!

Submitted

Yeah you're right. Thank you so much for playing and giving me feedback!

Of course! If you update it and there is still time, don't be afraid to ask for another playtest! I would be glad to do it!

Gravity Run by 31math62 is it good enough

Submitted

Yooo! A scratch game! This is a cool idea! I found one bug where on the third level I hit the checkpoint, but I died and it kept respawning me in the lava until game over. I also keep accidentally falling into the lava and not hitting the checkpoint just because I am going too fast. You did a good job though! I always love seeing scratch games. I don't think people truly understand its limits.

Submitted

if you were holding left after you died that could happen

for some reason I could not replacate it

I figured it out and fixed it thx for the repliy tho

hi I can’t okay test other peoples games right now so I may as well have mine playtested! I would really appreciate it

Submitted

Hello! I really like your game idea! I love the amount of replay ability with the different drawbacks and goals. The first time I loaded the game I got this: reach the flag, no drawback, increased gravity. I don't think this combination is possible I kept falling down to the lowest level of platforms and couldn't get back up. The volume for the voices is also a bit loud. It gave me a jump scare the first time it played lol. If you still have time volume sliders would be a nice addition. Overall good job though!

Submitted

thanks for the feedback, your combination should be possible maybe just a skill issue or maybe  a problem with delta

Hello, I'd really appreciate some feedback on my game if  anybody has the time https://spirindev.itch.io/mouse-of-wall-street

Submitted

This is surprisingly difficult. The movement is pretty hard to control but I'm guessing it is intentional. The mouse running sprite looks really cute. I feel like this is well polished! There was one point where I got stuck and didn't know there was a reset button until I reset the page lol.

This is a fun game though! Good job!

Submitted

Thanks for your feedback! Ill put a little note that you can press R to restart in the first room. I think i may have to tweak the movement a bit to make it a bit easier also

Submitted

Of course! If you do decide to tweak the movement, don't be afraid to ask for me to playtest it again! I would be glad to do so!

Submitted

Hey! I would love if you played mine!

https://sleepymacaroni.itch.io/spin-knight

I can also play yours if you want!

Thanks!

Found a couple issues. If you are holding down the spin button when you respawn you can keep spinning forever and stay invincible. Also, if you go to the right of the levels, you can clearly see were the background ends.

You did a good job making this though! All of my fails have felt like my fault and not the games. That is exactly what you want. And congrats on your first game jam! You should celebrate submitting a game!
Also, this is my game: Project Helix only play it if you have nothing else to do! I wouldn't want it taking away from the precious time you have left for submissions lol.

Submitted

Hey, just tested your game. I'm very impressed by the way it looks and plays, especially considering that it was made in one week only.  However, I kinda suck at puzzle games so I couldnt make it past level 4. The game is super polished and well made, and i love the way some parts of the text just have a little extra flair to it. (movement, colors, etc...) I didn't quite understand the objective though... :( Nonetheless, I think you should expand on the concept and release it here on itch or on steam eventually.  This game will definitely rank very high. Thanks for your review and good luck! :)

Aww this really means a lot to me! Thank you so much for trying it! I also wish you luck during the rating phase!

Hi, I’d like you to try my game and share your impressions with me, please. https://litennet.itch.io/inside-our-heads

Woah this is weird. I really like the idea of things only being visible with a certain color. Although I took way too long to figure out that I needed keys for the first and third door. My first time playing I was just spamming the color change to try and get the third door to open. Maybe a visual indication that a door needs a key would be nice? Also, I thought there would be an ending but the acknowledgement of the lack of an ending was funny. This is a cool game! Good job!

Submitted

Thanks a lot for the feedback; I really tried to come up with an ending, but nothing ever occurred to me XD

I think at this stage I’m just hoping it runs on everything — it’s fixing time now rather than changing anything thing

This game is cool! It's like part platformer and part puzzle. And the music feels very familiar I want to say I have heard it before but idk. I haven't found any bugs! I loved the intro text, it was really funny. "A rare medical disease that causes the dress to have different seams depending on the way they are facing" is so funny to me. Hopefully you are able to fix it to the way you want! Great job and good luck!

Submitted

I mean the music is Kevin McLeod, if you’ve watched a YouTube video you probably have heard it lol

Submitted

That makes a lot of sense lol
