Brilliant flavour for a beyblade game, excellent job with the abilities giving me enough strategy for the battles so I didn't feel like it was pure luck. With it being a street fight, I was hoping to see some things in the arena as well (cars, manholes etc.) that could influence the battle, but this was really well done overall. :D

Metagame cog 119/126

thanks a lot for the kind words!
i tried to steer away from enviromental stuff due it may feeling like unfair, but it is a very great idea that i may work upon on post-jam

Very cool, I won a couple of fights until Martheo. It's quick and easy to learn, but also versatile. I got the gear.

SO GOOD! Love the mechanics, really easy to grasp and fun to engage with. The art and music work together really nicely to complete the vibe. I never saw Hatsune Miku so I'm not sure exactly how Brazilian this is, but oh well. Cleber should be in Dark Souls.

Developer

oh god i should have put miku

that gif of smiling friends of the boss going "why didnt i think of that" is going trough my head now

i had a lot of fun, it's easy to learn, the ui is pretty intuitive and the attacks are well telegraphed! great fighting game!

Made me smile, fun (and VERY SERIOUS) game. I didn't see too much of a point in super attacks when I could just regular attack and keep a charge for defending myself.

I like the pixel art, and I really enjoyed playing this! The variation in fighting style of the enemies making you use all the abilities was nice, and the game's difficulty is not too hard, but not too easy either. Very fun game :D

Hahaha, this is great. What a fun concept. Also love the icon for the MetaGame. Great job!

I learned a lot about brazil, 10/10

easily one of the best on this jam. ive already seen a few battler games with spinny things but this is the first one that actually felt fun really to play!

also when youre gonna polish this further please make the healthbars appear directly above the fighters, cuz it can be really tricky to constantly switch your attention from the action to the healthbars

Developer(+1)

thanks for the compliment!
i actually got a lot of feedback for ways to make the UI look better trough development, kinda ashamed that i didnt think of this one!
will add to the list of things

This game was actually hilariously fun. The music choice, the stylized visuals, the gameplay is simple but hits the mark. There's a deceptive level of strategy in play - and there's enough polish to make it really stand out. For seven days, this is really impressively done.

The core battle loop does feel a bit rough at times - you quickly end up in a death spiral if you make a mistake in the later rounds - but that almost works to it's favour here. It's a very strategic, silly, but very fun little fighting game all about picking the right moves. This could very much become a really cool long form title, where you have to train up your fighter and compete in street fights, boxing matches, and more for fame, glory, and respect.

It's chess, but you punch another guy in the street because of a disagreement. Can't wait to see how this fits into the lore of Brazillian Drug Dealer 4.

thank you for the kind words!
i actually made the game in 5 days, as i missed the first and last day

i really hope to be able to polish the game a lot after the jam ends, i had so many ideas that went unused :D

You could definitely make something really fun here, the core game loop is really solid. Having ways to customize your fighter for the true Brazilian Street Fighting experience, maybe some more ways to influence the fight, combos - the possibilities are endless.

I'll have to check it out again post jam

This is freaking peak. I just saw this on the random games thing and got so excited because the name really is just that cool. The game really did not dissapoint! It had a ton of cool stuff and the end battles were filled with strategy. Really liked this one! Also all of the music you used here was great too and definitely fit the overall vibe.

I saw this one on the Discord over the course of the week, and I was really excited to play it. Brazillian Street Fighting did not disappoint. I was a little surprised when I learned I wasn't going to control my guy directly, but I think the mechanics worked well - I especially appreciated how enemies got more difficult not by simply having higher health, but by having different strategies I had to work around (e.g. I barely touched sway until the final boss, and I paid the price for it). My only real complaint is that pretty much all my foes died by being timed out, and I would've loved it if I had to be the one to deliver the killing blow.

As for style? A+
This game is dead serious. It has a timely premise, stunning art, the ability to give these poor men shirts, a name changer that increased my emotional investment in my warrior Clobberton, and a literal full man used as a gear in the metagame. (In all earnestness, this game is so incredibly goofy, and I adore the commitment to that at every stage).

the final blow idea is pretty neat actually, and i think that was what was bothering me during development, very good catch

Capoeira got nothing on a good T-pose

and some spinning

This game knocks it out of the park in every way, almost scratching the same itch a coolmathgames game would in elementary school. Everything looks, sounds, and feels amazing, and I could totally see this game being super fun with a pvp mode. The only issue I found was a small lag spike when the music switched between tracks.

Developer

thanks for the kind words! i sadly missed the deadline but i did have a fix for the music issue, maybe on a post-jam update

Submitted(+1)

I had so much fun playing your game! I spin weeeeeeeeee :))

Submitted(+1)

I really enjoy you'r game , good theme and idea !

Submitted(+1)

really like the fight progressions, the silly spinny fists, and especially the name :). I really enjoyed dodging the guys when they attacked, it seemed to get me through a lot. I think this could be a real big thing. You should definitely keep adding features to this.

Developer

i saw how big the name of yours was and i tried it out too, amazing game!
thanks for the kind words

Really fun fighting game with great potential. If you want to work more on this post jam, and I really think you should, maybe try to work on balancing the options to make sure they are all equally viable. I think I only needed to use the sway option on the last fight.

Developer(+1)

oh yeah this is the 1 thing i want to work on post jam, balancing the AI and the options so you must shuffle around the options
thanks for the feedback!
