This was really really fun! I liked how much I had to balance, it was just the right amount of concepts to juggle without feeling overwhelming. I think the fact that all I had to do was spin wheels, cast spells, and place towers made it work well; anything more complex or required more brainpower would burn me out. I got so into spinning the wheel to unlock more towers, my girlfriend was laughing at how intensely I was moving my arm in circles xD

I think I made it about 4 minutes after the tutorial. Very likely was my fault; I front-loaded the first loop in the path with tons of weapons, mostly ignored the latter half, and I think forgot about the enemy wheel. So the difficulty is probably fine, but maybe an easy mode or multiple levels would be nice to have if you continue working on this. Great jam game!

THANKS FOR PLAYINGGGGG <3333333

I loved playing this game, I dont usually end up playing tower defense types, but this one was an exception and I greatly enjoyed it. Only grype is that with all the sounds and everything going on at the same time it is very overwhelming. Not sure if there is a way of toning that down but with all the spinning wheels I ran out to things to focus on loll. If you are going to keep working on it I cant wait to see what it becomes!!

being overwhelmed is a good feeling, and exactly what i was going for ;3 THANKS FOR PLAYING <333333

i think this game is very overwhelming, and the random towers you pull gets frustrating when you need something that deals damage and you just keep getting tar spillers over and over again, some way to upgrade towers already placed rather than placing the ones you just spun could be a worthwhile change for this. aside from balancing and whatnot though, conceptually this a really unique and fun take on the tower defense genre that i have never seen, and the potential is definitely there for something really awesome.

Developer

it's not obvious because saying so would ruin some of the magic, but tower distribution and spell distribution is approximately even. you'll always get a roughly even spread of the 4 towers. an upgrade system was sorta planned but i had a feeling that we wouldnt have enough time to properly implement upgrading (which ended up being the case). thanks for playing!!

Roblox ahh cover image

But no omg this game was so confusing at first, the tutorial is great but I think it doesn't explain fully the mechanics... maybe I'm just dumb? Once I understood the game though, it was quite fun and impressive. Nice job! I also really like the isomorphic view you used, maybe I'll steal it for a future game

Maybe it was the info bump at the beggining but I didn't quite catch the game loop to learn how to play. It was very annoying seing the background move when trying to interact with the UI. I felt almost no control over the win as I am just spinnning and praying for luck.

Anyways, awesome quality, I was suprised for the defined style which really deserves a mention for the limited time.

Maybe I'm too used to PvZ, probably a good game and its just skill issue.

fair enough, i suppose. i guess i'll try explaining things a little more thoroughly in case you feel like giving it another shot.

1. there's a pity mechanic, meaning that you'll get a roughly even spread of all 4 spell variants and all 4 tower variants. it feels luck-based but it isn't, you'll eventually always get what you need (think tetris, modern tetris games will always give you the same pieces at the same frequency, but the order is random).

2. as for the background moving while using the ui? this is understandable i suppose, but there's only 1 element in the ui you need to interact with to play the game, being the wheel at the bottom you spin for more towers. everything else you don't need to actually interact with.

3. the gameplay loop is always just managing the 4 things: spinning the wheel for more towers; collecting orbs for more spells; placing towers and using spells to control the board; stopping skelly dan's wheel periodically. as long as you stay on top of those 4 things, the wins are very consistent (in hindset i think we shouldve made the game harder).

thanks for playing, though!

After giving it a second shot I realised it was just skill issue, grat job for the game, I would love to see more tower defense mechanics with a spin.

so glad you enjoyed <3 thank you for playing, and moreso, thank you for being willing to give it another shot!

WONDERFUL TOWER DEFENSE GEM I REALLY REALLY LIKED THIS

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Low key personal hidden gem. Goofy in the best way. Too easy imo, but I really enjoyed the sense of being overwhelmed, added to the tower defense vibes.

AWWWWW IM GLAD YOU ENJOYED ITT!!!!

Very overwhelming but still fun, managing all the spinning is engaging enough to completely change the vibes of a tower defence game in a good way.

Also just a heads up the f1 to restart at the end wouldn’t work for me.

I am a sucker for isometric games!

My score was 9 minutes and 20 seconds...darn..

Could do with a bit of a UI upgrade, but the tutorial was super nifty!

Spin upon spin... lots of spinning for different things!
